Max stayed still and tried not to think how random this was. Instead he wondered what class it was he had next. It seemed he had all the normal ones, minus gym, his mom had said not to even think about it. And math had been this morning.
Since he had chem and bio covered in the first semester of his er...less than attendance perfect grade 12 year, he had signed up for a couple uni prep courses, though he had no idea what he'd do.

Quinn clipped up the stairs to her new class and read the door numbers as she went.
Next up was French, and later today she had bio and chemistry. Physics would be next semester, and next year she'd start some uni prep science courses. Or maybe even law. She had lots of time to decide.

Dr. Sullivan rinshed and suctioned Max's teeth and gums. "So, how's the new school been so far?" the dentist asked.

"Oh, ah fine. Haven't seen too much of it yet." Max said daring to swallow while the dental tools were out of his mouth.

Dr. Sullivan nodded and resumed scaling his patient's teeth. "Well, it's good to hear you're not off to a bad start. You'll have plenty of time to get to know the place and meet lots of people. You'll also get to practice controlling your powers so you know how to use them" he said as he worked.

Max shrugged and sat patiently. He was used to dealing with his powers all by himself. His parents still didn't know the half of what he could do. From the sounds of this school it seemed like plenty of people would be around with way odder abilities.
But friends or no, in his water stuff he liked to go it alone.

Dr. Sullivan rinsed and suctioned after he finished scaling. At the same time the assistant came in with the x-ray images and put them up for the dentist to look at. Dr. Sullivan rolled his chair over and looked at the images for a moment. The dentist then rolled back and said "Well, looks like everything is good". Dr. Sullivan then picked up the electric toothbrush. "Now all we need to do is the cleaning".

"Sounds good" Max said feeling his teeth over with his tongue. He'd always liked the little rinsing tool.

"Hmm. Most patients groan or sigh when it comes time for the cleaning. I'm glad you have a more positive attitude" Dr. Sullivan said as he prepared the electric toothbrush. He then began polishing the top set of Max's teeth with a mint flavoured polishing paste.

Max just sat back and let the dentist do his thing. He wondered if his parents knew exactly how comprehensive the schools health care system was.
Max then wondered what exactly he'd done with his school schedule as he had no idea what class he had next.

Dr. Sullivan polished all of Max's top teeth, then rinsed and suctioned. He did the same thing with the bottom teeth as well. The dentist then began flossing Max's teeth. "I have to say, you certainly are taking good care of your chompers" he said as he flossed.

Max made an affirmative noise, and waited until he flossing was finished. "Yeah, our family has good dental." They had to, his little sisters needed those fake teeth sets, and his mom - and dad, (but only cause he was forced to) actually got their teeth bleached.
If Max hadn't been blessed with good hygiene and a flawless toothbrush technique, his mom probably would have hounded him into it too.

"Good old mint is fine with me." Max said. He'd only ever tried the mint and tutti fruitti kinds before. Even though hey both tasted fine, he was so used to mint anything else just seemed off.

"You sure you don't want plain? That's the most popular one" the dentist teased as the assistant pulled on a pair of medical gloves and began preparing the fluoride.
