"Check for a bump." Jennalin responded solidly. "If there is a bump, take her to the emergency room. Knowing Ash, she might have gotten a concussion. You need to check. I'll pay. I'm skipping class right now anyway."

 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blinked, then muttered a curse as he realized Jennalin was right. "I am so not used to caring for people like this." He muttered, hurrying back to the bedroom. He sat on the edge of the bed, near Ashriel's head. Softly, he combed his hand through her hair, feeling for any bumps on her head.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel had a rather large bump behind her left ear. Jennalin, still on the phone, thought for a second and began walking. "Did you find anything?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Yeah." Raevyn said, the single word filled with worry. "Rather big bump, behind the one ear. How far away are you?" He asked abruptly. He began shaking Ashriel's shoulder, trying to wake her up. He didn't know much, but he knew concussion patients had to be woken up often. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"About to step into Ash's building." The school was actually at least three miles from Ash's building. This statement could bring up the question wondering what Jennalin had actually been doing when she called. Her footsteps carried her up the stairs.
Ashriel's eyes fluttered open for a second, immediately clasping back closed. She hadn't actually woken up.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "And just how were you so close?" Raevyn asked in surprise. He frowned though, seeing Ashriel not truly waking up. He shook her again, becoming more insistent. He had to wake her up, as much as he hated it. He had to know if she was okay. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin opened the door easily, walking in. "I was already on my way. I called when I got to the alley next door." She frowned, walking to Raevyn. "One second, I'm going to try something." Into Ashriel's ear, she whispered gently. "Ash, breakfast."
"I'm up!" Ashriel declared, jolting awake dizzily. "Why does my head hurt? And where's the food?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn rolled his eyes and hung up the phone as Jennalin arrived in. "You could knock, you know." He muttered, not really expecting her to apologize or anything. He breathed a sigh of relief as Ashriel woke up. Well, that was one less thing to worry about. "Nowhere Ash. We were trying to wake you up. You fell and hit your head." He told her soothingly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Really?" At the end of Ashriel's question, her voice began to trail off as she began to nod off again.
"By the way, the food bit always works. And no, I have no intentions of apologizing." Jennalin was too worried about Ash right now to worry about which parts he'd actually said. "Ash, we'll get you something to eat in a bit."
"I'm awake." Her eyes were wide open again, although she was yawning.
"Let's get to the hospital. By the way, why was she crying?" Jennalin caught Ash's red eyes.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and gathered Ashriel up in his arms. "Come on. Time to go." He murmured to her. He wasn't sure if he trusted her to walk by herself right now. And since he was stronger than the average human, he had no trouble carrying her. At Jennalin's question, he blushed suddenly, remembering the reason why. "You know what, I think I'll let her explain that one. I don't know if she'd want to tell people." He headed towards the door. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Putmedown." Ashriel mumbled, a lame struggle coming out of her. Actually, it was more like a single twitch.
Jennalin rose her eyebrows as she saw Raevyn's blush. "Okay then." She said as they walked out, pulling the door closed once they were out.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "How about no." Raevyn told Ashriel simply. "You can't even talk properly. I have no doubt that you would be unable to walk as well. This way is simply safer. Last time I took my eyes off you, you smacked your head and ended up with a goose egg." Despite his teasing voice, there was an undercurrent of worry to his words. "I'mfine." Ashriel mumbled in return, slowly falling to sleep due to the bouncing motion as Raevyn carried her.
Jennalin rolled her eyes. She led him towards the road, where she opted to get a taxi rather than walk the entire way. Waving it down, she ended up jumping in front of one, which immediately pulled to the side, stopping. The driver scowled at her, obviously recognizing her. "Bro, I need some help." She spoke into the into.
"Of course. You'd be the only girl stupid enough to wave down a taxi by jumping in front of it." His voice was rough, with a gentle hiss to it as he spoke.
"On the contrary, i already knew it was you."

Now less bantering, more hospital." He said firmly, climbing into the back seat carefully as he cradled Ashriel. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin climbed right into the passenger seat, closing her door quickly. As soon as all the doors were closed, she looked at the driver.
"Jen! You have to-" The driver stopped talking in the middle of his sentence. He turned around and stared at Raevyn for a moment. "Do you know that the guy you are letting carry Ash is a cat, too?"
Jennalin nodded, waving her hand to the driver. "Hospital. Now. Important."
