((If you didn't, I probably would have somewhere down the line. I expect several Beauty and the Beast references to pop up in here somewhere or I shall be severely disappointed. XD (And maybe Once Upon a Time too, if I can help it...)))
Lucien suddenly turned from the window. He could hear light footsteps on the old stair coming up to his sanctuary. Without a second thought he threw on his cloak and practically stomped in his rush to head Adriane off before she saw anything she didn't need to see. Before she got to the top of the stair, he suddenly appeared in her way, trying to block her view with his large figure. If she could look past his piercing eyes, however, Adriane could have caught a glimpse at some of the ruined items behind him. "You shouldn't be here." he said coldly, a growl starting to permeate his voice. "Leave this tower. Now."

Adriane looked up, now understanding why everything was so torn up. She also had a full on view of Lucien's frontside. "Ooohhhh," she said. She nodded, quickly muttered, "I'm sorry," and hurried down the stairs and back to her room, She closed the door behind her and looked around her room. So he is the beast! she thought. It all makes sense now!
((Yay! Someone else who loves the OUAT version of this tale!))

((Yay! :3 *hugs* Srsly. That guy just steals the show whenever he's on screen. Rumplestiltskin is by far my fave char. emotion_kirakira ))
Lucien quickly realized the beast was slipping through again and darted after her, the clicking of his clawed feet against the stone floor more apparent now as he rushed to Adriane's door. He didn't want to repeat the same mistakes he made with Luminette. "Adriane!" he shouted as he pounded on her door a few times, trying to sound less threatening despite his gruff voice only able to sound cold and heartless at the best of times and full of rage at the worst. "Forget what you saw before! There are things up there that I'd prefer never saw the light of day...."

((Seriously! I have a question...Who do you think August is? I have a theory that he's Rumple's son...)) Adriane opened the door. "I'm very sorry on barging in on you. Its just...a bit of a shock that...well....uhm...you're...supposed to be a scary story that Grandmas tell to children when they're bad..." she said, looking at Lucien. "Which you're not!" She tried to smile at him. "I understand if you're upset with me..."

((I don't know myself, but I've seen theories online that he's either Pinnochio or the Narrator himself, while I prefer the latter of the two.))
Lucien gave a wry smile. "Why shouldn't they? A cruel beast living in solitude in old castle? I deserve such horror stories told in my honor." Stepping back from Adriane's door, he let his cloak fall away to the floor around. Slowly, his three pairs of wings unfurled themselves from around him. She hit the nail on the head, no point in hiding it now. "I apologize if I scared you before. If I had my way, I'd be the only one this castle would ever hold."

Adriane tilted her head. "So..if you're real...then the stories about Beauty are real too, right?" she asked. She crossed her arms and leaned against the doorway. "Hold on, lets go downstairs. Something tells me this is a long story..."

"As you wish...." Lucien sighed gruffly before slowly making his way downstairs, leading her back to the cozy den from before. "It's a tale I'd rather not recount, but the amount I look back on the past, I suppose I have no reason not to."

Adriane curled up on the hearth of the fireplace again. She crossed her legs and looked up at Lucien. "I'd just like to know the right story..." she said. "The one I know is probably distorted by time and myth..." She cracked her neck and said, "When did it all begin?"

Lucien sighed once more as he settled into one of the grandiose armchairs that sat before the crackling flames, folding his hands under his chin before beginning his tale. "It was many winters ago; just how many, I've lost track. I wasn't always like this of course. I once was the ruler of this quaint land, one that perhaps took too much pleasure from my wealth and power. I was heartless, and deserving of my punishment. An old woman came to my doorstep, on a night much like this one, asking for shelter. I but laughed at her and denied her such warmth before she revealed herself to be a beautiful witch. She cursed me with this form, one only to be broken when I could learn to love, and learn to be loved in return. The years passed until a young girl much like yourself found her way here in the midst of a harsh storm. Reluctantly, I gave her sanctuary from the winds until the storm passed, and over time, we somehow grew close. I truly thought she'd be the one to break this curse of mine, but then we had an argument and she ran away in the freezing snow. There is no doubt in my heart that she died that night. And she did it despising this hideous form of mine."

"I see" Zil nodded, kind of feeling sympathy for her. "Adriane and I have a lot of family problems too" He didn't continue anymore and let Luminette tell her story before he would speak again. He remembered the times when his father and brothers beat him up or called him names and how many times he tried to escape the village and take Adriane with him whether she liked it or not. He then remembered why he wanted to take a walk outside despite the weather although he didn't know the snowstorm wouldn't be that bad. It was, however, the perfect excuse to vanish into the next village and trudge his way to the capital city and make it out somehow there. He would be dragged back home if his family ever knew that he had left.
((OOC: Anime, can we make Amnesia references if they're doing Beauty and the Beast? XD XD JK JK~!! ))

Yes, definately. Definately. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a way to worm in some good ones.}
"Family. You can't live with them." Luminette let out a chuckle more before falling silent. There was no music to distract her from her thoughts, only the hissing winds of the blizzard. There was no escape. Only the unforgiving cold and subservient trees surrounded them. Luminette did not favor the hideous song of the winds to fill her spectral ears when she finally had company after so long. "So, Zil, what more can you tell me about your girlfri-...I mean, Ariadne?"

"Adriane" He said. "Her name is Adriane." He then stretched and thought about what he could say about her. "Well, she's very smart. Smarter than me at least. Also, she's fond of these local legends. As far as I can tell, she takes particular interest to this 'Beauty and the Beast' legend. As a kid, I even accompanied her to look for the Beast's castle although I really didn't believe it existed. I just... did things to make her happy. She was my best friend after all. I'd do anything for her."

{Sounds good. XD}
Luminette was going to question Zil's sincerity when he had called her simply a friend, but her possible role in that particular legend prompted her to ask, "Oh? How does that story go?" Somehow, she expected the tale to be almost completely inaccurate.

Zil put a hand to his chin, trying to recall the local legend as accurately as possible. "Well, the story goes that over two hundred years ago, a beautiful young maiden of flaxen hair left the village in the middle of a snow storm. She was going to die of frostbite or something something. I-I didn't read that part. It was sooo boring! Anyway, eventually, she reached the steps of a great castle where a beast resided and using her feminine appeal and charm, she tricked the beast into letting her stay for the night, reluctant as he was. She didn't know this but the beast was actually a rich, powerful and handsome monarch who had ruled this quaint land before a sexy, hot babe he didn't let in his castle during a snow storm cursed him to become as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside. I just deduced she was a witch. The spell would break if he could learn to love and be loved. So yeah. Anyway, back to the maiden. Since she left the village, she was cursed by the the forest and nature spirits surrounding the beast's castle never to return but she doesn't know that and she didn't want to go home then so she worked on seducing the beast into letting her stay and it worked. But when they ran out of food in the pantry, they began squabbling and the beast tried to eat beauty but he was too slow. She got out the front door in the middle of yet another snow storm and since she was cursed never to return to the village, she never made it. She got lost, going around in circles in the dark frozen forest and tripped, hit her head and fell into a crevice. She died instantly and goes around the village, eating the souls of children who are out too late after curfew or those that sneak out of their houses to play. They also said that Beauty doesn't eat the souls of adults because they aren't as nutritious." He then paused and went on to say, "But that's the version of the story little boys talk about. The girls apparently believe in a more romantic version and the parents reiterate the part about soul-eating. I'm pretty sure Adriane's version of the story would be more accurate if not more romantic too. Sorry, I'm not good at this story-telling business" He scratched his head. It's been some time since he last heard this story.
((OOC: I shall distort the story as much as I like~ It isn't supposed to be accurate anyway. This'll be so much fun! emotion_dowant ))

Luminette was completely silent as she listened to Zil tell one of the village's versions of the tale. It was borderline impossible to keep from laughing her spectral a** off at the absurdity of said story. It showed quite clearly on the look on her face. Her laughter was loud and hearty after the two silent seconds that passed upon Zil's finishing his tale. Could she actually physically feel anything, Luminette's stomach and sides would be throbbing with pain due to how hard she was laughing. Once she was finally able to stop herself she exclaimed, "Oh heavens! I knew it would be rediculous, but that..that is absurdly amazing! You have made my century, I hope you know that, Zil..."
{I agree. XD Oh my gosh this is going to be amazing.}
