After her crying bit was finished, she let go and scooted away, looking up at Daemon with her big sad puppydog eyes. "I...I...thank you, for forgiving me. Even if I don't deserve it."

"I told you, you never did anything wrong." Daemon said gently wiping away the last of her tears. "I'm the one that doesn't deserve such a happy ending."

Milly grinned at Daemon. Even though she knew such feelings would not fade for some time, it was nice to know that he cared this much. "Mmkay. You're not allowed to feel guilty either, then!"

Milly clearly was not convinced, since she was older than she looked. None the less, she offered a small smile and mumbled, "OK. I'll forget, for now."

"Good." Daemon said as he gave her a small on the top of her head. "You barely look five years old, the only things you should feel guilty about are stealing from the cookie jar." he joked as he sat her back down on the ground.
