"It's not your fault, we didn't know--we couldn't have known--that I would go that far off the deep end." Daemon said, still hugging her tightly. "I am so sorry, Larai....I am so, so sorry...." he repeated softly numerous times, though he still didn't fully know what he'd done, but he knew he wouldn't rub salt in the wounds by asking Larai.

"Milly caught on just in time, and thanks to her quick thinking and plotting, she got you close enough to me to take us home. She only pulled the torture stunt to prove that she would do what she must if pressed. We both planned...we both planned on you coming to your senses."
