 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Alright then." Raevyn said easily, not pressing her for details. He seemed content to just sit there, holding Ashriel. He wasn't sure how, but he seemed to be providing some semblance of comfort. So he just sat there, holding her and petting her hair softly. He wouldn't move until she was ready to.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

[ I ] { A } mnot that person who can just instantly trust people. [ I ] { A } mthat person with the guilty heart. Ashriel took several deep breaths and looked at him. He wasn't mad at her- he didn't blame her for anything. She smiled, feeling a lot better now. Maybe later she might actually tell him what she'd been thinking about. For now, she'd just continue on with her day. "Don't I have an interview or something?" Her voice was soft, an echo of what it normally was, as she asked him that question. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded. "You feel up to it? I'm sure Mama won't mind if you want to do it another day. Trust me, even animals have days were it just seems like the world's crashing down." He told her with an easy smile. Even so, he pulled away from her slowly and stood up. He offered a hand to help Ashriel up. Even if she didn't want to go to the interview, they would still need to head home at some point. It was amazing how fast he'd come to consider Ashriel's apartment home. The tiger that should be....isn't....

She smiled lightly, something that she seemed barely able to do. "I would rather not do it today..." Her voice was still soft; it didn't feel like it was her own. Her eyes looked at a house that stood across the pond as she bit her lip. A man and his wife sat at a dining room table, laughing. So happy. She could see where a place used to sit for her. Another tear ran down her cheek. They'd abandoned her- ridden themselves of her. All she had left was this tree... This tree. It was hers. How did Raevyn find her here, anyway? "How did you find me?" Again her voice was barely intelligible. He might even have a hard time hearing her. Blue eyes remained glued on the couple. Had she really once considered that home? The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded easily. Mama could be very forgiving as long as you weren't threatening her cubs. He chuckled at her question. "I'm a wild cat Ashriel." He told her with a grin. "Not some house cat. I have all my senses heightened and I'm a very good trackers, as that was my only way of eating for awhile." He caught sight of the tear that slid down her cheek and twisted to see what she was looking at. He frowned, seeing the couple. They looked enough like the girl for him to click the pieces together. "Come on. No point making yourself even sadder." He said firmly, putting a arm around her shoulders and forcing her to walk with him - Away from the couple. The tiger that should be....isn't....

If he hadn't forced her to walk, she probably would have been unable to move. She hiccuped once before speaking quietly. "Thank you." [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn glanced down at her, raising an eyebrow. Wow. Now that wasn't something that happened everyday. He grinned lightly. "Did you just thank me? I think I need to write this day down in the history books. 'Today, Ashriel actually said thank you. I've never been more surprised.' That's what I'll write in my diary." He told her lightly, trying to tease a smile out of her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Oh, so Raevyn has a diary. I think I have something to write in my JOURNAL." She teased back, pushing him lightly, but not so much that he'd have to step away. Really, she wanted him close right now. She wasn't sure why, but she needed him. Needed him... How could she need anyone? It made no sense to her. Either way, it was one hundred percent true. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn's grin turned into a mocking pout, though he was pleased to see a smile, however small it was. He turned his head away from Ashriel, nose in the arm. "Hmph! See if I tell you anything else. That hurt" Ge whined playfully, holding his side where she'd pushed him. He was clearly exaggerating. Nothing that light could have hurt someone like himself. Had she really insulted him that badly? At this point, she took to biting her lip, hard. Blood started to ooze from it, and she frowned at the sour taste. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn stopped as he realized Ashriel had as well. He sighed and lost the air of teasingness around him. Reaching out, he touched her lip lightly. "Stop biting. That's a bad habit." He told her softly, wiping away the blood. "I was just teasing you Ashriel. I didn't mean anything by it." He kept his voice soft and low, not sounding upset with her at all. Only soothing her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and rolled his eyes. "Ashriel, I was hit by a car and I'm still here." Just barely, but they didn't need to reiterate that point. "A little push is not going to hurt me. I barely even noticed you'd even touched me." He told her simply. "You need to stop worrying so much. Relax. Enjoy life." The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded and walked along beside her in silence. They were fine for the most part, until he noticed her about to cross a street - right into an oncoming car. "Hey!" He snapped, grabbing her collar and yanking her back onto the sidewalk just as the car blazed past. "Would you pay attention? You damn near got run over and let me tell you, that's not a fun feeling!" His heart was hammering in his chest, fear expressing itself as anger. The tiger that should be....isn't....
