Very, VERY old style riddles most often took the form of the words telling you about one picture that really stands for another one.

This is a riddle in that style.

as two legs = man
sits on three = sitting on a stool for his fish dinner. :>)

it is either a lantern, or a hole. or maybe another source of light, like a match, or something.....

how about this one:

I heard that one before. Of course, it would be no fun if I give the answer.
So when people finish that one up they can think about this one.

Yesterday this guy was interviewing people around the neighborhood. When he got to my next door neighbor Nicole answered the door.
Q. How many people live in the property? -
A. Four.
Q. How many kids?
A. Three...
Q. What are their ages?
A .I'm not going to tell you their ages but I will tell you that the product of their ages is equal to 36 and the addition is equal to my house number.

They guy thinks for a while, steps back to look at the house number and after a little more thinking he says "That is not enough information"
Nicole looks at him confused and after a while says"Oh... You are right. The oldest one plays the violin."

The guy writes some numbers down and says "Thank you for your cooperation." And walks away.

What are the ages of the three kids?

I can't.
Finding the house number is part of finding the ages.

the only solution i can come up with is 3, 3, and 4........ thats not right though.. is it?

How did you come up with that solution?
Keep in mind that the guy needed more information in order to get the right ages.
