Zil looked up at Luminette and said with a smug grin, "No." He then started with a hearty laugh and a stutter here and there, "Y-You look more like... a clumsy human that happened to trip and fall into a crevice... like me" He scratched his head, his shoulders moving from his now inaudible laughter. He hoped it would cheer up his companion some.

That brought about a smile and small bit of laughter on Luminette's part. The joke was a lot darker than probably intended, as this is what killed her, but it was funny none the less. Once the laughter died down, however, Luminette felt the need to speak once more. "For what it's worth...thank you. I don't know how many people would just run straight into the blizzard at the sight of me. I know I sort of deserve to be in the situation I'm in, but people could at least be civil towards me until I actually wrong them...." One should note that she said 'civil' and not 'nice' or 'trusting'. Luminette did not expect the best from anyone. She simply wished to be treated like a person every now and again.

Zil said with a sigh, "I understand what you mean but a lot of people have never seen ghosts before so seeing you would definitely freak them out. He continued with a depressing tune, "If being considered a person is what can be called of how my father treats me, I might as well be non-existent or a ghost even" He remembered being beaten, humiliated and ridiculed at home while his mother could only watch and cower in the distance, afraid of being hit as well.

"I can't say I really understand what you must be going through in order to say something like that." Luminette spoke, offering a shrug shortly afterwards. "If your situation is anything like mine, though... people, by nature, are afraid of those who are different. Be you of a different faith, though, or possibly even gender, there will always be someone out there ready to shun you without a second thought. There is no point trying to please them, yet there is also no point in antagonizing them either. It's best to let your mind and heart speak through action. With that, you either prove them wrong or justify their hate. It all depends on the situation, I suppose." Another shrug followed "I don't know if that is your problem, though, so I apologize if I sound too preachy or insensitive."

Zil was silent. An empty dullness came over his eyes as he continued to recall past events. He said simply to Luminette, "I will tell you in the morning" He sighed. "If you're still interested" He folded his cloak and lay it on the floor to use as a pillow. He then continued, "I'm tired. I think I'll sleep... If you don't mind" He rested his head on the pillow and almost immediately began to fall asleep. There were plenty of interesting things that happened that day. All he needed now was some sleepy eye.

{I now declare it to be post timeskip! Also, Zelly, the adventure is up and accepting. Finally finished my profile, ugh. XD}
Perhaps wishing to cling to company for as long as possible, Luminette had patiently watched over Zil as he slept beside her spectral form. She did not return to her corpse that night, did not return to the taunting rocks and shadows that shackled and caressed her long-aged bones. It was understandable, though, that she not wish for her aged corpse to be her only company. 'I am such a hyppocrit', she now thought with the faintest of shame, 'here I am with my deserving to be here, yet I just can't leave this guy alone to even hide from the sun. My intelligence and moral integrity is just as dim as ever, it seems...'

((So I see! biggrin ))
As the sun began to peek through the many tattered curtains that adorned the old castle, the faintest smell of breakfast wafted through the empty halls. It wasn't exactly the most delicious of smells, however. In humanity, Lucien always had servants cooking for him. After the curse, he found the need for such things as food to be less necessary. Despite that, he did find it in him to scrounge up something edible every now and again for old time's sake, which helped when Luminette showed up. Of course, she did all the cooking then too. All that being said, Lucien was a less than decent cook, but he felt he should put some food on the table for Adriane, as she was his guest.

Adriane walked into the dinning room, sleepy eyed and hair disheveled. She yawned, and said, "Good morning, Mr. Lucien. How did you sleep?" She sat in one of the old chairs and put her head on the table.

"I haven't had a restful night's sleep in years." Lucien muttered rather flatly in response, his wings folded behind him while he stood hunched over the stove trying to achieve an edible meal.

"Well, it smells good whatever you're making," said Adriane. She got up from the table and walked to the kitchen. "Why don't we eat in here? It's smaller, and the light is better for reading than in the dinning room. Why don't you ever open the curtains?" she said, sitting at the small island that was in the kitchen.

((Yes! Fight back with our own OUAT references!))
"I'm a monster. Living hidden away in the dark just comes naturally I suppose." Lucien grumbled slightly as he handed Adriane a plate of slightly singed eggs. "And I sincerely doubt it smells that good. What little cooking I've done in the past didn't happen until after the curse and I've seen no real reason to practice. It's not like guests are common all the way out here."
