It depends on how much $44 of your time is worth- will you spend that much time using/ admiring it? Does it have a value that's not only emotional or intrinsic?

If you have small children in the house, the ships won't last long so I'd say save your money. But if not, and you're a diehard trekkie, I'd say go for it, it's your money to spend as you wish.
