"You really haven't figured out that much about her, have you? She isn't one that will always say exactly what she is thinking. In fact, she almost always says the opposite. She took six months to tell Lix and I that she was living here, after all, and that was only because we were coaxing her to let us come over." She paused. "Did you notice that she tries not to cry unless she thinks she is alone? That is, unless she has nothing left to distract her. I've seen her cry perhaps once or twice- she'd managed to flunk a test, and she cried with frustration about her parents hating her for it." Jen's voice was smooth as she looked at Raevyn. "You know, it isn't something you can't fix." [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. [ I ] { A } m that quietly loud person that seems to be able to be both at the same time.  The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I noticed." Raevyn growled quietly. "That girl is too stubborn for her own good." By the time Jennalin told him it was something he could fix, he was already walking away. He stalked back towards the entrance to the apartment building. He couldn't say whether he was annoyed or relieved to be going back to Ashriel's apartment. He made his way up the stairs and to the door of her apartment. He knocked on the door and called out to her. "Ashriel! Open this door! This is doing absolutely nothing good for you."  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel, upon hearing him, actually stood up and came quietly to the door, opening it slightly to look at him. Her eyes were horribly red- and it was obvious that she'd been crying all day. "I thought you decided to leave." She said quietly, stepping away. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. [ I ] { A } m that quietly loud person that seems to be able to be both at the same time. [ I ] { A } m not ready for this

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed, his heart breaking as he saw how red her eyes were. He entered the apartment and closed the door. This was something they needed to work out. Jennalin could find out later. "I thought I was doing more harm than good." He answered her softly, leaning back against the door. "I was just a stray that forced it's way into your life. And every time I turned around, I said something new to make you cry." His voice was soft and apologetic. The tiger that should be....isn't....

In fact, you practically clawed your way out of my arms. Or tried to, at least." Her voice was light, broken somehow. "I cried because I needed to. My life has been distraction after distraction. That way I wouldn't cry. Now, I don't have as many distractions. But I cried..." She paused, thinking for a moment. "A lot less than I used to. If you would have peeked below the sink in the bathroom, you'll see a huge make up kit. Expensive, too...sadly." Carefully, she looked up at him. "If I didn't want you around- if it was you causing it- I would have said something. That thank you...it wasn't for anything other than the fact that you were helping me...making me feel better." The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed. "I'm sorry. I was being dumb. It just got to me, seeing you cry so much. I didn't know what to do." He spread his hand in a gesture of helplessness. "I've never been in a situation even remotely like this. I'm sorry. I'll try to be more of a help from now on." The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blinked in surprise as Ashriel suddenly hugged him. Without even thinking, he wrapped his arms around her. "Well, we'll see how this works out now." He murmured, hugging her, burying his face in her hair. Now that he was back, he realized just how much he'd missed her scent. "Can I move back in?" He asked quietly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

One word that she thought meant the same amount as paragraphs and paragraphs of speech. "Please." She said quietly, closing her eyes as she clung to him. Funny, how quickly had he became close to her? They had spoken only a week ago.
Releasing after several moments, Ashriel looked up at Raevyn, her stomach growling. She hadn't eaten since he'd left. Not that she was about to tell him that. That was just...how she had coped. She'd forced herself to sleep, to cry, far from everywhere else. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... A knot of tension he hadn't realized he'd had, uncurled within his chest. Raevyn sighed in relief. He'd been worried she would reject him for what he'd done. "Thank you." He whispered, then let go, releasing her to step back. He couldn't help but chuckle as he heard her stomach growling. "Come on. I'll make something to eat cause it sounds like you hadn't. What would you do without me?" He asked teasingly, trying to make her smile again. The tiger that should be....isn't....

At least it had only been two cans that she'd gotten to throw out- otherwise it would have been a big waste of money. "I could have eaten- if I wanted to." She said quietly, looking at him again. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn chuckled, walking into the kitchen. "I never said you couldn't eat. I said that you wouldn't. You need me to coax you into eating." He said with a smile, digging around the kitchen. "You certainly made a mess of everything I bought." He could see how she'd started gathering everything up to throw it out. He was glad he'd stopped her though. He began cooking, moving around the kitchen easily. The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn, with his back to Ashriel, didn't notice her watching him. He hummed softly as he worked, glad to be cooking again. As much fun as hunting was, he preferred it to be a game rather than necessary. "Making? I'm make chicken and rice with a mushroom sauce. Oddly enough, it doesn't taste like mushrooms. More of a cream, really. I suppose that's because I use cream of mushroom soup to make it." He chattered happily, glad to be back home. Somehow, it felt right. This was home. Here, with Ashriel. "Thanks for coming back...I thought you'd abandoned me." He would probably figure out why she had reacted so badly, as well. Anyone else, it probably would have been about an eighth as bad.
