 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and paused in his cooking. Then he continued cooking, speaking without turning to face her. "I didn't mean to make you think that." He said quietly. Now that he was talking it through with her, her could see how she would get that. He'd done exactly what her parents had and abandoned her - And he hated himself for it. "I'm sorry. I thought I was making things better. I didn't want to hurt you anymore." It had hurt him, every time he made her cry. He hated seeing her so upset.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Sorry I didn't tell you sooner why I was crying. I didn't realize..." She trailed off, thinking carefully from where she was. Of course, he'd done the same thing she would have, now that she heard him say it. But... "I think the thing that made me react the worst was the fact that you saw the pond...and the tree...and we'd been by it just before. That had been where my parents took my key." The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I'm sorry." Raevyn whispered. "I didn't know." Has he known that, he was sure he wouldn't have left her like he did. Setting the food to simmer on a low temp, he turned around and hugged Ashriel. "But it's alright now. I'm back. And I won't leave. Not unless you tell me you don't want me here." He didn't know if that would ever happen, with the way Ashriel had reacted when he left, but he had to leave the option there for her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

You didn't know...I didn't tell you." Her eyes glanced up at him, his face. "Th-thanks." She stuttered now, a blush slowly turning out on her cheeks. So he'd left because he cared? The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn smiled lightly. "Hungry?" He asked, pulling back from her to check on the food. "Cause food's ready." He pulled out two bowls, scooping the rice and chicken mixture in then drizzling the sauce on top of it. "Here. Some food'll make you feel better." He sat down to eat with a sigh. "You don't know how good this tastes right now, after what I was eating all yesterday and the day before." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Especially since it is the only thing I've eaten since the thing in the field." She was pretty sure he'd know what she was talking about. Basically, she hadn't eaten since the day before yesterday or so. Eating slowly, she actually savored every bite as she ate.
--I'm sorry if I appear online but take like, hours, to notice this. It probably means I felt asleep and left my comp running...again.

Raevyn shook his head. "I won't even tell you what I was eating. You wouldn't like it. But man you really fell apart. Why didn't you at least eat or something?" He hadn't been expecting her to just.....give up. It was such a contrast to her normal stubborn, fighting spirit. He hadn't realized she'd liked having him around so much. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn paused, raising an eyebrow. "No reason? And Jennalin and Lixini aren't reason enough?" He asked mildly. Now that confused him. How could he, a stranger she'd only just met, mean more than her two best friends? The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn set his fork down. "Ashriel, look at me." He commanded, his voice soft but demanding. "Not everyone is out to hurt you. Some of us do like you and want to be around you. We don't want to leave you!" He said forcefully, his amber eyes completely serious, none of their usual laughter in them. Her answer was stuttered, once she was able to come up with one. "R-really?" Okay, so she still didn't come up with much. How was she supposed to respond, anyway? A large part of her didn't believe her; the other part was going 'awwww, he would say something like that'. Either way, she was rendered incapable of actually coming up with a decent answer for him. You have no idea how hard it was to convince myself that leaving would be a good thing." He looked away as he said that, embarrassed to admit it. He started eating again, not looking at Ashriel. If he really felt that way, which it seemed that he did, Ash had no reason not to believe him. Ashriel smiled softly, saying only two words before going back to her food. "Thank you." The words were whispered so lightly that, if he had been anyone else, he wouldn't have been able to hear them. Again she began shoveling food into her her mouth, finishing after a few moments. Her stomach still not full, she asked him a question with a voice only slightly louder than just before that. "Are there any extras?" [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blushed lightly at her thanks but said nothing. He merely nodded slightly and kept eating. When she'd finished though, he chuckled and gestured towards the stove with his head. "I made extra." He explained with a smile. "I thought you might be hungry. Help yourself." He'd made quite a bit, knowing that whatever didn't get eaten tonight would be eaten later as leftovers. The tiger that should be....isn't....
