Minting is a small village just off the A158 road, in Lincolnshire. It has become something of a centre for black cat sightings.

Several puma like animals have been seen around the area over the years, including foot prints, but unfortunately no one has as of yet ever caught one dead or alive.

Warheads, also known as Mega Warheads, are a brand of sour candy manufactured by Impact Confections. The candy was invented in Taiwan in 1975 and was first imported to the United States by The Foreign Candy Company in 1993. They are currently distributed in the United States by Impact Confections and in Australia by Funtastic Limited. They proved to be very popular, especially with youths; in 1999, Warheads were referred to as a "$40 million brand." [1] Impact Confections acquired the brand in 2004.

Warheads derive their strong sour flavor from a combination of malic acid, ascorbic acid, and citric acid. These are applied as a coating to the outside of the small, hard candies. The intense sour flavor fades after about 20 to 50 seconds.

Warheads are marketed to children as an "extreme" candy. The name "Warhead" comes from the notion that the sour taste of the candies is akin to a real warhead going off in one's mouth, and the brand's mascot, Wally Warhead, is depicted as a boy with puckered lips and a small mushroom cloud eminating from the top of his head. A driving force behind the candy's popularity were informal competitions among schoolchildren to determine who could withstand eating the largest number of Warheads at once.[2]

A warning is now included on Warheads packaging, as follows:

WARNING: Eating multiple pieces within a short time period may cause a temporary irritation to sensitive tongues and mouths.

Lex Acilia de intercalando (The Acilian Law Concerning Intercalation) was a law established in ancient Rome in 191 BC.

Introduced by the consul M. Acilius, this law probably authorized the pontifices to decree an intercalary period in order to prevent seasonal drift in the pre-Julian lunar calendar. While the historian Fulvius claims that this law was the first instance of intercalation in Roman history, the historian Varro cites instances as early as the 5th century BC. It is also alleged that the decemviri were the first to intercalate, a practice they may have learned from the Etruscans.

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over a million speakers. Aymara, along with Quechua and Spanish, is an official language of Bolivia. It is also spoken to a much lesser extent in Peru, Chile and Argentina.

Some linguists have claimed that Aymara is related to its more widely-spoken neighbour, Quechua. This claim, however, is disputed — although there are indeed similarities, the majority position among linguists today is that these similarities are better explained as areal features resulting from prolonged interaction between the two languages, and that they are not demonstrably related.

The Aymara language is an agglutinating and to a certain extent polysynthetic language, and has a subject-object-verb word order.

What Are Floating Point Numbers?

There are several ways to represent real numbers on computers. Fixed point places a radix point somewhere in the middle of the digits, and is equivalent to using integers that represent portions of some unit. For example, one might represent 1/100ths of a unit; if you have four decimal digits, you could represent 10.82, or 00.01. Another approach is to use rationals, and represent every number as the ratio of two integers.

Floating-point representation - the most common solution - basically represents reals in scientific notation. Scientific notation represents numbers as a base number and an exponent. For example, 123.456 could be represented as 1.23456 × 102. In hexadecimal, the number 123.abc might be represented as 1.23abc × 162.

Floating-point solves a number of representation problems. Fixed-point has a fixed window of representation, which limits it from representing very large or very small numbers. Also, fixed-point is prone to a loss of precision when two large numbers are divided.

Floating-point, on the other hand, employs a sort of "sliding window" of precision appropriate to the scale of the number. This allows it to represent numbers from 1,000,000,000,000 to 0.0000000000000001 with ease.

The Parliament of Italy (Italian: Parlamento Italiano) is the national parliament of Italy. It is a bicameral legislature with 945 elected members (parlamentari). The Chamber of Deputies, with 630 members (deputati) is the lower house. The Senate of the Republic is the upper house and has 315 members (senatori).

Since 2005, a Proportional System electoral law is being used in both houses. A majority prize is given to the coalition obtaining a plurality: at national level for the House of Deputies, at regional level for the Senate.

The Rings of Kether (ISBN 0-14-031630-7) is a single player roleplaying book, written by Andrew Chapman and illustrated by Nik Spender. It was originally published in 1985 as part of Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy series, numbered 15 in the original Puffin printing and not yet included in the recent Wizard reissuing. As with most of the series, the story is divided into 400 sections, although in this book there are two ways to win, so the final section forms only one of the successful conclusions to the story.

Unusual for a Fighting Fantasy gamebook, the story takes place in a science fiction setting, with the player taking on the role of a Narcotics Officer seeking to break up a drug ring located on the planet of Kether. Players are given a reasonable degree of freedom as they travel between various locations on the planet's surface and in orbit, and there are multiple paths to the final confrontation with the heads of the crime ring. The major element which distinguishes this gamebook from others in the series is the heavy use of Skill rolls, which are employed several times in quick succession during The Rings of Kether.
