[ I ] { A } mnot that person who can just instantly trust people. [ I ] { A } mthat person with the guilty heart. Ashriel frowned as Raevyn pushed her hands away and undid her braid. She could do it on her own just fine! But as she didn't feel like having her hair pulled in attempt to fight him, she handed him the brush. "I was doing it myself, just fine." She stated, not really fighting with him. The results were probably going to be better with him doing it, anyway. After all, a braid done by the person themselves usually was lopsided, and Ash's braids were no exception. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak.  The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn took the brush and began brushing out her hair gently. "Maybe so, but it was lopsided." He told her bluntly. "I'm being nice so shut up and accept it." Working quickly, he separated out the strands and began braiding. He was only gentle, not pulling or tugging as he worked. It was only the work of a moment before he was tying it off, a neat braid straight down her back. "Done. How's that feel?" He asked, tucking a loose strand behind her ear.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Perhaps she should thank him - wow, she did that a lot recently. But why shouldn't she? After all, he'd almost left her because he thought he was doing more harm than good. "Thanks." She said, continuing after a moment. "It feels good." Her eyes flickered to look at him. "Now I'm ready." She grinned, turning to face him. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "You know....." Raevyn began thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. "You've changed. It used to be like pulling teeth to get you to say thank you. Now you've said it quite a few times by your own admission." He grinned suddenly. "I like it." He laughed and trotted out of the room. He shifted to his cat form and waited by the front door. Did she really like him? Well...maybe. But he didn't seem to like her. Especially not last night when he groaned about pretending to be her boyfriend.
She stepped out of the bathroom, walking to the front door. Unlocking it quietly, she opened it and waited for Raevyn to walk out. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn trotted out the door and down the hallway, tail in the air. He kept just steps ahead of Ashriel as they left the apartment building. He led her through the streets, occasionally glancing back to make sure he hadn't lost her. It took them a while, but they finally made it to Sanctuary. He shoulder his way in the swinging doors, calling out teasingly, "Mama, I'm home!" The words felt wrong to him though. This wasn't home. Home was back at Ashriel's apartment. The bustling bear, in her human form appeared from the crowd and scooped Raevyn up. "Ah, I missed you cat. It's been much to quiet around here." She glanced at Ashriel, then gestured for her to follow into the back room. "Come with me child. We must talk." The woman had a french accent in her melodic voice. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ash noted the accent, finding it lovely in accent to the woman's voice. As they entered the room, Ashriel casually looked around before returning her gaze to her hostess. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "You are looking for a job, correct?" Mama asked, sitting down on a couch. She gestured for Ashriel to sit on the couch across from her. Not even really thinking about it, Raevyn hopped out of Mama's lap and crossed the floor to settle in Ashriel's. Mama raised an eyebrow but didn't comment. Instead she turned to Ashriel. "My little kitten says you work hard. That is good. Working here is hard, with so many people to serve. And with you knowing so much, there is no need to hide. That is good too." She looked thoughtful for a moment. "And with my kitten gone, as well as some others, I am needing the help. Very well. If you are agreeable, we put you on trial period? Is this sound good to you?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

She didn't mind Raevyn when he sat on her lap - it was becoming all too natural. Listening closely as the woman spoke, Ash nodded yet again near the end. "Yes, that sounds very good. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sat on Ashriel's lap, content to keep quiet and listen. It wasn't his interview. He was just the guide. Mama glanced towards the door they'd come through, sounds of a good time filtering through. "Very good, very good. I must return to help my cubs though." She rose, dusting off her apron. "When can you start? My cubs is needing as much help as they can get. And I am not that young any more." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Today she was still fairly exhausted, and it would put off a bad impression to start on a slow note. "Tomorrow, if you'd like." She answered, standing as well, putting down Raevyn on the couch next to where she'd been seated. After last weekend, she knew not to lift him. [ I ] { A } m that shy person that is forced to speak. The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Mama nodded. "Very good then. You will see yourself out? I must help the cubs before they begin fighting again." She sighed and bustled out the door, back into the crowded bar, leaving Raevyn and Ashriel alone. Raevyn hopped up onto Ashriel's shoulder, balancing easily. "Still tired?" He asked kindly, guessing at her reason.
((It really is a weird feeling, having a cat balanced like that. Weird, but amusing.)) The tiger that should be....isn't....

Honestly, she was just planning on heading home, perhaps coaxing Raevyn into telling her what the homework was so that she could do it before she went to sleep.

"I figured as much, considering how much you slept." Raevyn told her simply. He flopped down across the back of her neck, stretching from shoulder to shoulder. He was quiet as they walked through Sanctuary and out onto the streets. Even then, the only things he said were directions, to correct Ashriel when she went off course. She'd left it unlocked, so she found opening it extremely easy. Quickly she walked in, yawning. "What homework did I miss?" She asked, obviously intending on doing that today instead of sleeping.
