Is there an anime character who you wish didn't have to die?

I regret telling ya that I have a couple o' people that made me sad when they died. The people are:
Kikyo(Inuyasha)
Suikotsu(Inuyasha)
Jiraiya(Naruto)
Gaara(Naruto)
From Sailors Mercury to Pluto(except Sailor Moon) (Sailor Moon)
Noo... Why!? "Why must the good die young!?" crying

I wish Tsuzuki and Hisoka and Watari from YnM didn't have to die, except otherwise they wouldn't be the characters they are...

to be brutally honest I can't think on an anime that I've seen that kills off a loved and main character, but I have the very same feeling for many many books.
