What force and strength cannot get through,
I with a gental touch can do,
And many in the street would stand,
Were I not a friend at hand.

yes.

Next Riddle:

Only one colour but not one size,
Stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies,
Present in the sun, but not in the rain,
Doing no harm, feeling no pain.

it's a well. -- or humpy dumpy? LOL

i don't have a dragonology [?]. But in our school, we used to have many riddles every monday (like 1 hour of solving problems & mind tickling riddles). && most of your riddles were given to us, that's why i know. haha.

but to tell you, i didn't get most of the riddles right during our discussions. I only know then after the teacher revealed it. biggrin

I have one.
To go from one side of a river to the other, a ship was built. In the fist hour after the ship was built five trips were made and 50 people were able to go from one side to the other.
In the first and second trip a total of 18 people were able to cross the river.
In the second and third trip a total of 17 people were able to cross it.
In the third and forth trip it was 22.
In the fourth and fifth trip it was 22 as well.

How many people managed to go from one side of the river to the other one in the third trip?

MATH AGAIN. sheesh.
lets see. forget grammer and stuff, im using note lingo here.

3 and 4 trip + 4 an 5 trip =44 -4x [4x=trip#4]

1+2=18
2+3=17
Which means that 1 an 3 had to be one num. diff. 18 reasonably could b:
7+11, 6+12, 8+10, 9+9.
17 could be:
9+8, 7+10, 6+11,

3+4=22
4+5=22
so 3 an 5 have to be the same. 22could =:
11+11, 10+12, 9+13,
thats all I can think of right now. tell me if im on the right track?
I would rather be told Im wrong and do it all over again, then get the wrong answer and not ever figure it out.

1: gets wet. Silly.

2: Amazon ones! [sounds like 'amazing', only, it ends in 'on']

Am I right?

But we all still have to figure out xXLuckeXx 's riddle.

Untill someone can figure out that brain killer, here is another easy one to relax your brain:

Old Mother Twitchet had one eye,
And a long tail that she let fly,
And every time she went through a gap,
She left a bit of her tail in the trap...

I got 10!

I guess I'll show my work:

() = indicate trip #

(1)= 18 - (2)
(2)= 18 - (1) = 17 - (3)
(3)= 17 - (2) = 22 - (4)
(4)= 22 - (3) = 22 - (5)
(5)= 22 - (4)

So...

[18 - (2)] + [18 - (1)] + [17 - (2)] + [22 - (3)] + [22 - (4)] = 50

Using substitution, I made all () to be trip three:

{18 - [17 - (3)]} + [17 - (3)] + {17 - [17 - (3)]} + [22 - (3)] + {22 - [22 - (3)]} = 50

When expanded, I got:

17 - (3) + 18 - 17 + (3) + 17 - 17 + (3) + 22 - (3) + 22 - 22 + (3) = 50

Simplified, I got:

(3) = 10

Yup, and for all trips I got:

Trip (1) : 11
Trip (2) : 7
Trip (3) : 10
Trip (4) : 11
Trip (5) : 11

Total : 50

I had to do that last part, to make it sure it would work.

Wonder if I did it right!

EDIT: Unless you count the driver of the ship, who wouldn't have gone off the ship, but he still went from one side to the other, so that would sorta make it 11, I think...not sure.

it cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
it lies behind stars and under hills,
and empty holes it fills.
it comes first and fallows after,
ends life, kills laughter.

what is it?

Is it nothing?

Let me explain why:
Nothing can be heard, it is silent.
Nothing can be smelt, it is not there to be smelt.
Space is 'empty', so nothing can be behind a star if it is space.
If a hole is truley empty, nothing is in it.
If something is coming, which means it is not yet here, which means nothing is here.
If something is gone, it means that we are after, and there is a lack of that something, which means nothing is there.
Alot of nothing's can end life: nothing to eat, nothing to drink, nothing to breath, etcetra.
If nothing is said or done, the laughter ends.

If I am correct, I have yet another riddle for you:

Old Mother Twitchet had one eye,
And a long tail that she let fly,
And every time she went through a gap,
She left a bit of her tail in the trap...

[If you need this: What is old mother twitchet with her tail?]

Meh no good at riddles. DX
But I do know one that doesn't suck too much:

[warning: death related content]

A man is found (dead) hanging in the middle of a room, with no one else there. He is four feet of the ground, and the only other thing in the room is a puddle of water below him.

What are we supposed to find? How he hung himself? If we have to find that, I have one thing to say: Who has a room in any house that has a [on average] nine foot roof?
Sorry, I really like showing how riddles actually turn out wrong.

It was never said that he was in a house, just a room.

The Mother Twitchet one: Needle and thread. (I have Dragonology, great book, it makes sense, unlike other books researching dragons)

The Stiff: He fell through his bathroom floor while taking a bath and drying his hair, and the cord of his hairdryer got wrapped up around his neck. Simple, right?
