MariAnna was walking home from her music lessons, a violin case slung over her shoulder. No, she was not fluent in violin yet, but she was trying to learn. That was why she took lessons. Unfortunatly, it seemed that the vioin was a much more difficult instrument than the others she had played, at least for her it was. As she walked, she absently fiddled with her 'earing,' the silver one. MariAnna constantly worried about someone figuring out that they weren't really jewelry, that they were the strange gems that had fallen from the sky five years ago. Some of her friends still hadn't accepted her story that she loved them so much that she just never wanted to take them out, and who would? After all, what person wears the exact same pair of earrings for five years? When she was only a few blocks away from her house, she saw two boys walk into the old abandoned warehouse that she used to play in when she was little. She hadn't gone in there for ages, after being totally freaked out by a large spider when she was nine, and as far as she knew, no one ever went in there. Curious, MariAnna snuck over to the door, which had been open a crack. All she saw was the boys huddled close together, one showing the other something on his forearm. 'Mmm, he's probably just showing off his new tattoo or something.' About to continue on her way home, she turned, but slipped on a couple of pebbles, which sent her tumbling to the ground. "Ow..." MariAnna mumbled, having hit her head when she fell, along with scraping her palms.

For the next few moments Riley's face just grew redder and redder. It was the first time someone other than him felt around the jewel in his skin and it was an oddly pleasant sensation the likes of which he'd never felt before. And then came the kiss. "B-but...w-what about that Adrian guy...?" he asked shyly, hoping this wasn't Zach just taking pity on the awkward new kid in town.

Zach bit his lip. "I don't know," he said after a moment, still stroking the crystal in Riley's arm. "But... I don't think he's going to be coming out of his house for a while. And even if he does..." Zach sighs. "I guess it's better to be happy than chase a dream. I mean, if you want to be with me." He averted his eyes to the ground, blushing.

Fortunately, it seemed as though the boys hadn't heard her, and so MariAnna picked herself up, brushing gravel out of her palms. "Owie." she murmured. To her relief, it seemed as though there hadn't been much damage, nothing to hinder her ability to play her instruments. Now, to sneak away quietly before they did notice her. MariAnna didn't want to be taken as a sneak.

Smiling, Zach leaned forward and kissed Riley gently, a quick press of the lips. Then he blushed again. "Oh, I, um, hope you don't think that's too forward. I just, um, really wanted to kiss you."

Smiling, Zach kissed Riley again, slowly. He pulled away to murmur, "I've never, um, kissed anyone before. I mean, once, when I was seven, but..." He blushed. "Just so you know."

"Hello," Shane whispered in MariAnna's ear, her slender fingers clamping down on the girl's mouth as she pulled her away from the warehouse. "I hope you weren't spying on my friend in there," Shane said, taking a few steps away from MariAnna. "Because that's my job." Her eyes traveled over MariAnna and she asked, "You straight or gay?"

Zach nodded, then kissed Riley again. "I think we should practice right now," he said shyly, smiling warmly.

Riley's smile widened a bit and his eyes brightened up. He quickly looked around a few times before grinning back at Zach. "I've got an idea. It's not as cool as this place, but I've got a secret place of my own that's even more hidden. Absolutely zero chance of anyone else finding it."
