((Hurga blurg, sorry. I had block for a bit there. >.<))
"Large family I take it?" Lucien asked for the sake of conversation as he sat there and watched her eat. "How is life in the village these days anyway?" he asked curiously, having heard nothing of it since Luminette left him.

"Not necessarily large...just....my parents fight alot, and then my older brother gets into it....I tend to get away from the house alot and go find Zil..." She said. She sighed, and said, "Village life is village life i suppose...." She finished munching on her bacon and stood up. "Speaking of Zil, could I go look at those maps? It's still cold outside...and we need to get him inside when we find him..."

"Of course; right this way." Lucien said as he stood up and led her to a small study. It had a writing desk near the back of the room that stood facing the door and there were several cupboards along the walls filled with a few large drawers. Almost automatically he pulled open one of the drawers and searched through the rolled up parchments inside, pulling one out and spreading it out on the desk, confirming it was the map of the forest he was looking for.

Zil had been searching for Adriane for about a few hours already and with each passing minute, he was growing more and more desperate calling out her name. He stumbled and tripped a few times and asked trees if they had seen a girl with beautiful flowing hair and green eyes that sparkled like jewels. Each time he asked, the descriptions grew more vivid and more colorful, remembering everything from her general appearance down to the small details that no one else would have noticed. With each step,he was growing increasingly lonely and increasingly desperate. He was ready to collapse when he noticed a familiar sight. It was a snowman beside a not clearly visible crevice. He rolled his eyes, realizing he had been going in circles and without even finding anything to eat. This was a problem. He carefully slipped inside the crevice, careful not to fall or hit his head. He may not have food but at least he would be once again sheltered from the cold. He sat down in front of the extinguished bonfire and let out a loud, irritated groan. The next minute later, his stomach began to growl as well. "This is crazy" He muttered almost inaudibly.

((I totally awed at that Zil piece....)) Adriane studied the map. She bit her lip as she frantically searched it for anything she would have recognized. She started to talk to herself. "Ok, so Zil and I left from the village heading east like always," she said under her breath. She traced her finger on the map. "It takes two hundred paces to get to the willow and we turn right...my paces are about two feet, and the key says every inch is five hundred paces, so we turn about here." With her finger, for the next thirty minutes, traced every step that she took with her best friend..that she always took with him. Each minute was harder for her, until she got to the place were they got separated. "Here he said he would be back in a minute, but I heard a noise and turned around....I only walked about fifty paces...." She sounded like she was about to cry, and it was hard for her to talk. "It...it was to the west again...and I turned around...I walked about thirty paces back, and I couldn't see but five in front of me...." She then fell silent, not wanting to recount those terrible hours without the firey boy she was always with. She traced her finger to where the castle was..."If he was smart...he would have stayed there..."

"Calm yourself, we'll find him." Lucien told her gently as he placed a large and heavy hand on her shoulder in comfort. "We can head out to where you got separated and search from there."

((Hey guys, I have some major hw to do so this will probably be my last post tonight for a while))
Adriane nodded, and rolled up the map slowly. "Thank you, Mr. Lucian," she said. "That makes me feel better...Knowing Zil, he's probably just cool as a cucumber waiting to laugh at my getting lost..." She forced a small laugh, and headed to get her jacket.

((I know that feeling. XP Metric ******** of projects here I come!))
"Let me collect my cloak and a lantern and we can start the search. If another storm starts up we'll want the light." Lucien said rather gruffly as he turned to leave the room. Once Adriane had her jacket on, he folded his wings around him and covered himself with his cloak as he led her to a small supply closet where he retrieved an old lantern which he lit before they ventured out into the frozen forest.

((Well, I kinda brought one upon myself by doing good enough at a state comp to go to Washington DC)) Adriane rubbed her hands as she walked into the snow. "Zil!!!" she called, hoping against hope that he was close-by somehow. She trudged on, taking out the map and marking her paces. It took them a good two hours before they got to the place where Zil and her had been separated. She started to called out again, holding the map. "Ziiiiiiiiiillll!!!" she called. "Zilllaaaaiiiiuuussss!!!"

Zil perked his ears, thinking he heard something. "You hear that, Minnie?" He asked curiously. He was pretty sure spectral senses were more sensitive than humans or something like that. Actually, he hadn't heard from her for a while. "Minnie??" He asked, the feeling of loneliness returning to him. He thought he was hallucinating Adriane's voice now and covered his ears, grunting. "Whhhyyyy??" He asked himself audibly why he couldn't stop worrying about her.

Luminette, feeling too guilty to hide herself any longer, let herself take form once more by his side. "Yes, I do. A woman is calling for you not too far away." She tried to offer him a reassuring smile before looking in the direction from which she'd heard the woman's voice. Pointing towards it, she spoke up once more, "I'm not entirely sure, but I think it came from that way. Don't get desperate or ruthless, or the snows will take you. Now, go see your girlfriend already." Her tone went from a somber one to playful and teasing rather quickly, an impish grin resting on her lips as she let herself fade from sight once more.

"You hear it too?!" Zil asked loudly as he jumped to his feet. It could only be Adriane. "Thank you so much for everything" Zil said, turning to her ghostly companion before continuing, "I'd hug you if it were possible. But now, I suppose I have to go" He climbed out of the crevice once again, scampering to find where the voice was coming from as he called back, "Adriane!" He almost tripped and stumbled a few times but he didn't let that get in the way as he hurried to find that girl he couldn't stop worrying about.

Adriane's heart jumped for a minute, thinking she heard his voice. She looked over her shoulder at Lucien. "Did you hear that?" she asked, the hope rising in her voice. She started to walk towards the sound, "Ziiiiiillll!!!!" She looked around, trying to listen for her best friend's voice. She started to worry about anything that could have happened to him, her heart getting heavy in her chest each time a new thought came to her head.

"He sounds to be coming from over that way." Lucien said raising the lantern in Zil's direction, the old metal creaking as it swung from the circular handle. The closer they got, the further back he followed Adriane, holding off to the point where they could just barely see each other. And once they did find Zil, he'd be hiding behind a tree so as not to unnecessarily show himself to anyone else; Adriane was just a fluke who got lost in the woods during a particularly nasty storm.

Adriane stopped calling and looked around at Lucien. "What's wrong, Mr. Lucien?" she asked. "We're almost to finding him..."
