Ashriel stepped into the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror. She supposed he was right. Carefully, she bent over to get her brush. Picking it up, she yanked it through her again tangled hair, flinching as she did. Tears fluttered slowly down her cheeks. Just because his reasoning made sense, didn't mean it didn't hurt. It hurt perhaps as much, or more, of the consequences he mentioned. Still, she wasn't about to argue. Quietly, she remembered how she would feel if she was in his position.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn was unable to sit still. He rose and paced around the small apartment, making a loop through all the room but the bathroom. His footsteps, completely audible for once, showed he was just as upset as Ashriel. He just showed things in a different way. The cat in him refused to cry, no matter how much he wanted to. So he paced instead, not bothering to walk silently as normal. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel finished brushing out her hair quietly, hearing Raevyn pace. His footsteps were rather noisy - was he just as upset as her? Perhaps. She breathed deeply, applying make-up over her red spots quickly to cover it up. Moving hastily for near no reason, she walked into the kitchen, pulling out the ingredients for spaghetti.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn ignored Ashriel, continuing to pace. He muttered under his breath, trying to remember all the reasons why this was for the best. Ashriel could cover it up with make up all she wanted but he could feel she was upset. He cursed being empathic. It was making this so much harder. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Inside, Ashriel was cursing herself for being so stupid as to ask the question in the first place. All her fault. It was all her fault. Hers, and hers alone. At least, that was how she saw it. She filled the pot with water, setting it on the stove and turning on the stove top.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn finally settled down in the kitchen, flopping into his seat. A dozen times he opened his mouth to say he did want to date her and a dozen times he closed him mouth without a word. He crossed his arms on the table, laying his head down on them. "This isn't your fault, you know." He said finally. He knew her well enough to guess at what her thoughts were. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel eyes flickered to him for a moment. "How isn't it? I raised the question." She responded, her voice confident, yet weak. Quietly, she broke the noodles into the boiling water, stirring as she did so. Once the noodles were in the water, she leaned back onto the counter, her eyes watching Raevyn again.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded in agreement. There was no way to deny that. "You brought up the question, but that wasn't what I was referring to. I meant the answer wasn't your fault." He told her quietly. He had figured she was beating herself up about this. How could he make her see it wasn't her fault? "I'm sorry. If I were just normal, we wouldn't be having this issue." He sighed then added bitterly. "This is what happens when your a freak of nature. Even the most simple of things get messed up." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel frowned when he mentioned not being normal. "If you were normal, we would have never spoken. If you were normal, I wouldn't like you. If you were normal, we wouldn't even be friends." The water began to boil over. "You forget that the reason we ever spoke was because you are the way you are. There isn't any other way we really would have ever recognized each others presence. If anything, it is my fault for being pathetic. If I weren't so pathetic, this wouldn't be a matter to worry about."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn barely noted the water boiling over. Pathetic? She thought she was pathetic? He rose to his feet, bracing his hands on the table. "You are not pathetic Ashriel. Never let me hear you say that again." He told her quietly, his amber eyes serious. "You are not pathetic and this is not your fault." His temper began to rise. How could she think she was pathetic? A pathetic person would never had approached an injured jaguar. Would never have picked up an injured cat in the first place. Would not have care for a cat or a jaguar.
((Keep arguing please? I has an idea.)) The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel shook her head at him as she looked at him. "How am I not pathetic? I could never defend myself in any sort of fight, I forget everything, and I doze off while walking. How is that NOT pathetic?" The water was now carrying the noodles out of the pot. "It is definitely my fault. If I were stronger, this wouldn't be a problem!"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn hissed, moving closer to Ashriel. "A pathetic girl would have left an injured cat to die! A pathetic girl would have run rather than face an angry jaguar. A pathetic girl would be scared of me and what I am." His pupils seemed more slitted than round right now, as if his cat side was leaking through. "This was never a question about your strength! You're a strong girl!" But she was still human and no average human could hope to outdo a were, in any of it's forms. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel glared lightly now, her stomach churning. "If I'm strong, then why did I fall to tears because one person left? If I'm strong, then how come I had to run and get help in that alley? If I'm strong, why couldn't I help you...on my own?" Tears were beginning to form in her eyes as she became frustrated.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Dammit Ashriel! Why won't you see? Dev won't come near me most days. Fang ran away. Colt refuses to work the same shift as me. Wren demanded a room on the opposite side of the building. Even Mama only tolerates me! Cats are the outcasts of the were's." Raevyn growled at her. "You are the only who's been strong enough to mean anything to me, to do anything! You were the only one who stayed in the alley with me!" Frustrated beyond belief, he did the only thing he could think of to make her stop talking such junk - He kissed her. When he pulled back, he glared her her. "Will you please just listen to me for once?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel was startled by what he said, but not as much as she was by what he did. She fell silent instantly, looking at him and nodding. Now she would listen. She would answer whatever he asked, except if one topic came up: that had been her first. Deep breaths of air came in and out as she waited for him to say whatever else he needed to.
