"Mazel tov, Sable, tateleh, you finally have a firm grasp on the obvious." She glanced disdainfully at Damien. "I am Lilit Roja, tipesh." Then she squeaked and scowled at Syren.
The elder vampire, who had just given Lilit's hair a sharp tug and then slapped her on the back of the head, smiled slightly at Sable. "I apologize on her behalf, Miss Melrose. It's around her time of the year again." Which meant, the day Lilit's old girlfriend died, which meant Lilit was going to be even more of a bother than usual. Then she looked to Damien. "You may call me Syren. It is nice to meet you."

"So then Marie" Kael said as they got to a different side of the room turning around to look at her. "Why not tell me a little about yourself. It's not every day that I come in contact with another up and coming artist of your caliber" he said with a smile brushing his hair back a bit wishing now he had gone ahead and put it in a pony tail but it would have not accented his clothing as well had he done such a thing. "And don't spare me any of the detail I feel that this will be a long night none the less" he laughed a bit looking at her.

"Well, might I say what a pleasure it is to meet the both of you." Damien said, kissing Sable's hand.

((Haru...Marie isn't near Damien anymore. >.< ))
Marie found herself blushing, very fainting, at his compliment of her skill. Well she certainly had tried to make her work all it could be, pouring her heart and soul into every piece. At times it could be as equally emotionally draining as physically painting for hours on end. "I'm afraid there isn't much to tell about myself. As I said before, I'm a painter. By day I'm a simple art student, where I try as much as I can to perfect my talents, as well as study those who came before me." She paused for a moment, trying to make her tale as brief as possible, not wanting to bore him. "My life before that...isn't very interesting I'm afraid. I grew up in a small down west of here, and all I've ever wanted to do was draw, from the moment I could hold a crayon. My parents are...less then enthusiastic about my career choice, preferring that I would have done something more "useful" in their words. They see art as a waste of time and just pretty pictures. I see is as a display of the soul." Her story finished, Marie could only grin again. "How about you? Though I know your art I'm afraid I know next to nothing about you."

(Meant Sable. I've been confusing the two all night. No idea why.)

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well." Sienna replied to Damien, having completely ignored Lilit's smartass comment towards her. She offered Syren a small nod in understanding, but little else.

That was Valen's cue. He certainly had seen and heard enough from the others around him to make him consider his decision to part. Stepping aside to leave Sable and Lilit together, the Consort nodded in Syren's direction; he was forever amazed at the woman's ability to appear at the most interesting and convenient of times for his liking. Fading in the background noise that was the assembled crowd he simply walked around studying the interior of Damien's manor, his eyes taking in the familiar artwork from his fellow Consort. What a surprise...Kael's found quite an avid fan base of sorts. He smiled briefly in the other man's direction while his counterpart was speaking with Ms. Sangreal, only briefly making an appearance before he was gone yet again on patrol looking for any form of a distraction.

"Well, perhaps we could all get to know each other better over a bottle of wine. I've got a bottle that's likely older than all of our ages combined!" This was a lie, of course. In actuality, it was only older than Albert, but his comment helped secure the assumption that he was simply a normal human, one who knew nothing of vampirism.

"I don't drink wine," Lilit grumbled, now pouting. "Although I'd love a few samples. One of my active projects is trying to turn wine into pure hydrogen. All I need to do is figure out how to separate all the molecules with hydrogen and then strip the molecules down—"
"Lilit," Syren said softly, her hand once again on the back of Lilit's neck. "This is neither the time nor the place for talk of alchemy." Then she smiled politely again at Damien. "I prefer to keep my senses sharp, but thank you for offering. And another thing—I doubt the bottle's older than me. I'm much older than you think I am. I'm just good at hiding it because I'm English." She let out a soft giggle behind her hand, not mentioning that she was a few other nationalities before she was English.

"I would love some, myself." Considering who Sable was and how she could be at her worst, getting her drunk was a very horrible idea. But Sable was easilly bored, and she needed to be constantly entertained. She would've shot Syren a glare for mentioning her age in so obvious a manner, but alas, she was fairly certain that this human had to know something about vampires. The invitation was to the Immortui, a name only known in the vampire underworld, after all. She might have been irresponsible and spoiled, but she wasn't completely dense.

"Well, Miss Melrose, I suppose it's just the two of us, then." Damien wrapped his arm around her waist and guided her away from the crowd. "Come, I'll guide you to the private sitting room."

Lilit's hand shot out, yanking Damien's arm away from Sable. "Touch her again and I'll tear your arm off," she snarled, eyes burning a hole in him. "Sy, are you coming?"
"So jealous," Syren said with a soft chuckle, observing her pupil with amusement. "Very well. Someone has to keep you from killing him, I suppose." She let out another chuckle at her little joke.

"Lets see a little about myself" he repeated rubbing his chin a few times. "Well as you can imagine I am not one to tell much a reason I gave nothing of prior to my art scene to any of the interviews I had" he chuckled looking at her. "I suppose tho I could divulge a little bit anyways to you as long as I don't hear about it in papers later" he laughed again drawing his fingers over his face.
"Well I guess you could say I am a vampire in all respects of the word. Like they need blood for nourishment artwork and fashion drive me to create things greater than what I have. Speaking of fashion both my own and Sable's outfits were my designs." he told her giving a quick glance back towards the direction of sable. "Also like the mythical creatures I have an eye for talent and beauty in the world seeking to covet and enhance it to the utmost of it's abilities. This is just a comparison tho please don't think to class me with them" he chuckled telling exactly what it was but having the carefulness to play it off like a simple comparison.
Shifting his weight some what he thought about telling her about his past but felt no need to go into great detail on the subject. "I got my start as an artist in texas. Not as glamorous as some of the but they like any other state had museums of art and other such things to help drive me. I cared little for my parents and as such I simply ignored there complaints on my lifestyle." His look changed a bit as he stared down at Marie. "Other then that all of the rest to know about me you can find in a magazine or paper" he told her.

"Oh don't worry. I'll respect your wish for privacy." Marie murmured when he mentioned he better not find anything he was telling her in the papers. Certainly a lower person would be able to make a hefty sum from such information, but Marie wasn't one to stoop to those levels. She listened intently to what he was saying, find his comparison to vampire interesting. "That's quite the original take on it. Though suiting, since your work usually contains such dark undertones. Unlike your few pieces here...which are likely among your most cheerful" She couldn't help but notice the startling similarity between his and her up bringing into a home where their life dreams weren't respected. "It's a pity they didn't support you. I suppose they were kicking themselves for their actions once they came to realize how successful you've become in a so called waste of time profession." At his final comment, Marie found herself frowning slightly. "Actually...all I knew about you before this meeting was what I've heard in humors, or what I've seen in my textbooks. I have little time for the half truths of most magazines." She said critically. "They go to far for a story...give them an inch and they take a mile."
Marie paused for a moment, knowing what she wanted to ask next, but she was trying to figure out how best to phrase it. It was a long shot that he would even agree with what she was thinking but it was most certainly worth a try. "Mr Hardin...I was wondering...if you would consider doing a collaboration work with me? I would never release it to the public. I'm simply asking as an opportunity to learn from one of the greatest artists of our time." Marie fell silent for a moment, waiting for his reply. She unconsciously held her breath, hoping he would say yes.
