Veo blushed and pouted as he was trying to get his thoughts together before it turned into an expression of frustration. He closed his eyes, baring fangs before twirling Akalia and saying hesitantly, "You know, I... really enjoyed myself this week. You know so much. I honestly had never met...a girl... who could do all that." "Well, not as good as I do most of those things, of course", he retorted at his own statement and continued, "But really, I'm impressed. This week was very.. interesting" At this point, he was not expecting any intrusions or anything other than Akalia's disapproval to ruin this chance at a wedding. Was this still lust? ... An admiration? ... Veo could not tell for sure but he knew that he wanted to keep this one. Not his first angel but certainly the most interesting.
((OOC: Shabatha, wouldn't you think it'd be fun if Lucretia joined in Jake and the demonesses' conversation? xP ))

Akalia listened as her thoughts were brought to a hault by his questions and talking. She blushed some as he complimented her. "So you are saying that I am almost as perfect as you are?" She asked. This was to jibe at him since he thought of himself as perfect, or so it seemed to the angel. She smiled mischievously as she had missed when he had barred his fangs. As he twirled her again she had to glance down as the dress slightly raised and the air felt funny around her legs as she started giggle. She blushed some more,"Sorry.... That... Tickled."

Veo had questioning eyes and repeated her words in a questioning and vaguely astonished manner, "Almost?". One could not tell if he thought it absurd that someone regarded him as 'perfect' or looking down on her for even attempting to compare herself to the Adonis that is Veo Volente. Not that the question lingered long. When she giggled, his expression broke into a jubilant smile although the proud look was still on his face. How could he not be proud? He's about to marry the most beautiful woman across all the kingdoms, and a princess at that! And he did not mind her at all. Like he had said, she was very interesting. He then tried to test something. "Maybe I haven't asked before but... Would you like to get married?" He was faltering. In a way, he wanted his bachelor status back right now. In another, he did not want to let Akalia go.
((OOC: She will be returning to Why Not? shortly ^o^
For the day after, I guess it would be equally hilarious for either (or both) Lucretia and James to object. Speaking of which, where are the others~? ))

Akalia looked away slightly as they continued to dance. Did she? She didn't know. Part of her said no, part said why not? Hadn't she been head over heels over the human? That's why she had left. But Veo had taken her by force here. But since it hadn't been awful... The part of her that said no kept pulling up memories of her fight with the human... But the part of her that said go ahead kept bringing up the fact that she didn't know if the human would have even returned her feelings and yet this demon was. She didn't know which one she wanted. Even her heart felt split... What would she do? Ruin the chance that she could be happy with Veo with the slight possibility that the human might want her?
She looked back at him and sighed. "I don't know... I need a little bit longer to think..." She said quietly.

{I'm sorry for my terribly long absense. Real life got the best of me, and I really didn't have time to come online and do any more than just check my PM box every now and again. As things are now I will have much more time to post, but since it's been so long please forgive me if my posts aren't as great as they were pre-break or if I take a little longer to reply then what once was normal. Before I post with Lucrecia's interjection, as you suggested, can you clarify where the demonesses and Jake are?}

Okay, not going to be able to crash the party if it's next to the palace. There'll be too many guards. But if the wedding is in the middle of town I should be able to crash that. I just need to find a way to do so without getting spotted. James thought to himself, trying to come up with a plan. "My masters just prefer to keep most things on a need to know basis, and i don't need to know a whole lot according to them. Do you know what time the wedding will be?" He asked with a small smile.

Lucrecia had only recently returned to the demonic lands from her mission to trick an important (but not too important) human of some sort into revealing to the angels Akalia's status as a prisoner...in the human kingdom. It took longer than she would have liked, and for the sake of her cover and Veo's hide, she dared not write to him of her progress. There needed to be no evidence of demonic involvement of the Princess' capture. No, the humans and angels needed to wipe each other out so that the demons could handle the spoils. It was all so burdensome, and often times she questioned why she went out of her way to help Veo with his stupid little whims when it could very well cost her own skin. But he was charming, and fun to be around when he wasn't being a rotten little s**t. He always found a way to win her back just as she felt she was about to throw in the towel and quit.
So distracted was she in her thoughts that she nearly jumped at the mention of the Prince's wedding being the very next day. She'd almost forgotten about the unpleasant affair. But who were the chatty demonesses speaking to? A human of some sort? Why would he be asking about the wedding? She could see his master wanting to be secretive. After all, trickery and intruige were king in the demon lands. Still, something about that boy seemed off. Flaunting herself as she always did, she approached the group with a grin that seemed to be laced with poison and ice. "Your master must be living under a rock if he's sending you to get the going ons from the local harlots." Her tone of voice sounded rather amused, yet there was something about the way she spoke and smirked that could make one feel unease. She had no doubt that the demonesses would reccognise her, but on the off chance that they didn't, it wouldn't matter. Lucrecia could easilly show them their place if they gave her trouble.

The demonesses stopped laughing as Lucrecia walked up. "Oh, how wonderful! The prince's guardian... She would have more information than we do." The chattier one replied happily trying to slink away.

"There isn't much time. But if it's you, I would not mind as much", Veo claimed. He had been with several women throughout his life. He had not found solace in one for longer than a day. He would always nitpick and find something irritating about them or if not, soon lose interest. Women were objects to be played with and deceived -- not equals to men in art or sport. But oddly, this one was.
((OOC: I can't wait for the wedding. But I wanna see how James and Lucretia's conversation plays out OwO ))

Akalia blushed slightly at the compliment. She smiled and nodded some. "I will know by tomorrow." She said vowing to make sure she had an answer. But she already knew that she would have to no matter what at this point. She twirled away as part of the dance and then back. "Why do you have a dance before a wedding?"

((Stupid Akalia being stubborn. Though I just realized that if she decides to stay with Veo, then the war between humans and angels would escelate and the demons win. O.o))
James turned toward the new demoness that walked into the conversation. His smile wavered slightly, something about her made him feel uneasy. Then, upon hearing that it was the prince's guardian he cursed his bad luck inside his head. "He's not the one out of the know. Just us his lowly servent, A.K.A. me. I was just running around getting some errands done when I overheard something about an angel." He said, praying to God that they demoness would believe him.

"Afraid I'll slit your throat in your sleep, sweetheart? Fret not, for you're not worth the bother." In other words, she was just a nameless sow that Lucrecia needn't worry about. It wasn't long until she turned her vicious gaze back to the suspicious servant of clearly human heritage, finding him to be of more interest - and uncertainty - than any of the chatty ladies she was now ignoring. "Right." Her tone of voice implied she didn't believe the male for a minute. To be honest, she didn't. An ordinary human, especially one who stood with such pride in himself, did not a common servant make. A concubine to some eccentric noble? T'would be far more believable, but if that were the case he wouldn't be out at all unless his master or mistress was by his side or he was running away from a master/mistress he no longer fancied. She crossed her arms and shifted her weight onto her other leg, never letting her golden eyes lose sight of him for even a moment. "What sort of errands?"

"I thought you'd never ask", Veo said as he smoothly slid them back to a close position as the music got a little faster and the dance steps became more similar to what we call tango. "Contrary to popular belief, all three of our races are similar in more ways than just the bipedal structure". He then twirled her around and pulled her into reverse butterfly position so that she was faced away from him and could probably feel his breath upon her neck. "Sensuality. And what could be more sensual than the art of dance, mademoiselle?" Finished with his little explanation, he led her around himself until they were face to face again. At which point, he pulled a little harder down and as she fell, caught her in his arm coincidentally at the climax of the song and continued holding her in that position until the song slowed to a stop. He wrinkled his nose playfully with a smile. "Just a little excitement to fuel the night". He swooped her up and walked towards the long table. "And I promise you excitement night and day if you say yes". He chuckled to himself and said, "I apologize for taking such liberties. You look a little tired. And I'm sure dinner will be served so-" That was when one of the royal servants began calling the dancers to come sit at the table as dinner was about to begin. "--soon", Veo finished with a sigh as he let Akalia down.
((OOC: Sawwy if I didn't leave any pauses for Akalia's response. For the record, this post played out in my head visually and in that version, Veo doesn't give Akalia any windows to speak either until he sets her down. Arrogant son of a-- XD XD
And yes. Actually, that DOES sound like a happy ending. Veo and Akalia getting married and ruling all three kingdoms! XD XD But for RP's sake. No! Someone MUST interrupt the wedding >w< Poor Veo~ ))

Akalia blushed brightly as he spun her around and could feel his breath on her neck. She Followed the dance steps as well as she could until she slipped and fell into Veo's arms and he held her there, just staring at her. She had to admit that he was quite charming, and in more ways then one. She blushed as he started picked her up at the end of the song and took her towards the table. She sighed quietly in relief as he finally let her down. "Y-you're fine." She said in response to his apology. She was soon seated next to Veo at the table.
