The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Cats are the outcasts of were's. Very few like us, including our own kind. Despite that, every were will show a united front before humans." Raevyn said quietly. "Most don't like the idea of a were and a human together. Some react violently to the news. I don't want to see you hurt because of me. It's not that I don't like you, cause I do. I'm trying to protect you. I don't my problems to fall on your shoulders." His amber gaze was filled with sincere worry. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at him, deep in thought for a moment. "They might already believe we are..." She muttered, thinking about the rumor that was all over with any person their age. Tears had washed down her make-up and now her face was reddened as she thought. There were whirls of ideas moving through her head; although, she couldn't justify a single one of them. What could she say? "You've already taken your problems on yourself...you don't need to be worrying so much." And she realized that by saying this that she was a complete and total hypocrite, but she didn't mind it.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blinked then sighed, running one hand through his dark hair. "s**t." He muttered the curse. She was right. Those that care about human/were pairs could easily find out from Lixini's rumors. "I'm going to kill that girl." He turned away from Ashriel and began pacing again, each and every footstep audible. He always thought better when he was moving. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel turned away from Raevyn to do what she did when she was stressed - cook. That was when she saw the mess, along with a small kitchen fire, that was caused by the lack of attention to the noodles. "Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot." She repeated over and over again, trying to find something to put out the fire with.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn was at her side the moment she began cursing. He didn't even need to ask what was wrong, the fire being obvious. He reached though the flames quickly, ignoring the stinging sensation as he turned off the burner. He knew that it was just feeding the flames. With that done he simply grabbed the bowl from his cereal this morning, having forgotten to wash it, and filled it with water that he dumped on the flames. He did this several times to make sure the fire was well and truly out. "Well. That was interesting." He commented idly, as if the kitchen hadn't been in danger of burning down. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel sighed with relief as soon as the flames were gone. Small char marks were already on the walls, now. "And it was a waste of food." She said quietly, with obvious upset. Wasting food was a big no-no for her.
The phone rang as Ash moved to clean up whatever mess was left. Ash glanced to it, shrugged, then ignored it.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Don't worry about that. I can get more. Just be glad that the kitchen didn't burn down." Raevyn said, glancing at the char marks. He jumped at the sound of the phone, not expecting it. Leaving Ashriel to clean up as she was doing, he trotted over and answered the phone. "Hello?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

The voice on the other side of the phone sounded disgruntled as he spoke. "Oh, lovely. You LIVE with her." It would be evident right away that it was, indeed, Lucian, Jennalin's feline brother. "I was calling to warn Ash that I was told by another WERE that you two were dating. When I spoke to Jen, she begged me to do something or another to help."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn hissed as the first word came through the phone. Lovely. Lucian. That meddling tom. As Lucian's words though, he let out a strong of curses that would make a sailor blush. "I am gonig to freaking kill Lixini and her stupid rumor spreading." He snarled the words, annoyance rippling through him. Great. Now it didn't matter whether they actually were dating or not. Most were's would attack first and ask questions later, not giving Raevyn the chance to explain. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Ah. That explains it. Lix caught you two, and that was the only explanation she could come up with. Well...I'm looking for a place, and I know that we didn't exactly...get along when we first met, but I saw an apartment for rent in that same building as Ash. So if you need back up..." Lucian was more or less offering because of the fact that Raevyn was with Ash. By now, Ash was like a little sister to him, just like Jennalin. After all, she'd been at his house enough.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn snarled and started to reply with something rude before he stopped. As much as he personally hated the thought of being around Lucian, it would mean more protection for Ashriel. "It might be nice to have someone nearby in case something happened to Ash." He admitted, disgruntled to have to admit that. He was basically accepting Lucian's offer, just not in so many words. Besides, he really didn't want to see anything happen to Ashriel. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian turned the car he'd been driving around, heading back to where he HAD been driving from. Jennalin was currently walking up the stairs to Ash's apartment. "By the way, I just had to drop off Jen before I called, so...don't be too surprised."
Ash finished cleaning the mess, the char marks barely noticeable. By the way she cleaned it, it was apparent that it hadn't been the first time that had happened. She heard him on the phone, turning to look at Raevyn. "Who's that?

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn glanced at Ashriel and made a face. "Lucian." He mouthed the name. "And Jen's coming." He added quietly then turned his attention back to the phone. "Did you have to do that? She butts into everything. I'm in the middle of something. It's bad enough thatyou called." He said, making his opinion of the tom quite clear. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian's voice seemed calm. "Yeah, I did have to. She threatened to tell my parents where I'm at." He answered Raevyn simply. "And I am trying to stay away from them... I am in slight trouble for something I did."
Ashriel frowned. She didn't want to talk to either of her friends right now. As there was a knock on the door, she portrayed her dismay. "Go away Jen. I'll talk to you some other time."
Jennalin frowned on the other side of the door, taken aback. How had she known? "I'm just here to tell you that Lix is really sorry." She walked away, stepping down the stairs again.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn smirked. So Lucian was in trouble wit his parents was he? He would have to remember that if he ever needed the tom to do anything. 'Not that I need him or anything.' He added silently. "Yeah well, thanks." He told Lucian sarcastically. "Bye." He hung up on the other were, not giving him a chance to argue about it. He glanced up at the sound of Ashriel's voice and frowned. Was she really sending her friend away? He'd never seen her do that. He was even more surprised to hear the girl's footsteps leaving. "She left. She actually just turned around and left." He said, sounding both confused and surprised. The tiger that should be....isn't....
