I haven't done it with book characters... but this does describe my OC Synthia. She started off as an OC character for the Buffy universe, where I had her as a love interest with Spike. Then I started watching Angel... and Synthia ended up finding herself dumped by Spike and she ended up falling for Lorne. Then I started watching Grimm and Synthia became a friend of Monroe's and had a family connection to the Grimm brothers. She also had the Twilight saga tied into her story. Started watching The Vampire Diaries and that made it so that Synthia started traveling around the country, and was a love interest of Damon's. *laughs* Now I don't know where she stands. She's either going to branch off into her own universe... or she's reached the point where she'll have to be discarded because her story has no where to go.

You know... I think I actually do have a book that ended up being like that. It was just some random book that I got a book fair and discovered when I was at home that it was signed by the author. Thankfully I enjoy the novel, so it gets to stay in my book collection.

More like I keep buying books and have no room to put them, so they just get piled on my window seat. *laughs*EDIT: Speak of the devil!

Indeed.
In fact, I just re-read Clockwork Angel and realized that one of the Shadowhunter - Lilian Highsmith - was described in a way that matched my OC's appearance. So now I have a hypothesized family connection for my OC that I didn't have before.

J.K. Rowling, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Cassandra Clare are the authors that I wish I could be great friends with.

I had no problem doing that in Borders. But I just feel weird doing it in Barnes & Noble. Probably because there's sort of a high-class, snooty atmosphere about the one near us. I just felt more comfortable standing around and reading in Borders than I do at B&N; I always feel like I'm doing something wrong at B&N.

Powell's is a dangerous bookstore to go into for that very reason.
