I suppose you aren't allowed to actually see anyone die. But plenty of people have... Kaien, Hisana, and .... I believe it was Kaien's girlfriend as well... oh yes, and friend of Tosen's has died as well...
I am also planning on going to the Bleach movie.
June 11 and the 12 is when it is I believe.

I like Bleach, along with other animes, but the best thing about bleach, for me at least, is the Zanpaktou.
