no i disagree you are in the gheto because you have lived your life to be in your situation no mater how bad our life is we always have a choice it is YOUR FAULT YOUR IN THE GHETO NO OURS you did not have to smoke your first joint or take your first addictning drug because of us we did not force you to do that and in turn becuse you took that drug or drank that drink you forced YOURSELF to be on the road your on. we the people of the suberb didnt force you to skip that day of shcool that was your choice and your choice alone

I was raised a suburbanite and hated it! I willingly went on the streets to get some challenges, was homeless for over 2 years, now i live in the ghetto and luvin every second of it!

And yes the suburbans lack of socialism and human kindness IS a major factor in the ghetto, as the self-content middleclass ignores the problems of their kin and supports massproduction and cheap labor forcing the lower working class to congregate in places where they can afford to live, hence ghetto's exist because of the ignorant masses that rape and abuse their own for the purpose of saving a penny.

It is possible (and fairly simple) for anyone who wants to, to get out of "the ghetto."

Instead of spouting socialist dogma, why don't we point out the exact problems and then figure out solutions?

Surely any who actually care would want to fix the problem, and not just say it's the fault of the rich. Here's the thing: If you're right, and the rich and/or middle class don't care, you'll have to fix it yourself.

Spend less time complaining, and more time fixing the problems you see.


More to the point:

This isn't a philosophical discussion, it is just an opportunity to complain about what the interested parties don't want to have to fix themselves. Either discuss politely and intelligently, or the thread goes in the trash.

People in the "ghettos" are often cut over an edge with murders, rapists, thieves. They are often lower educated and associated to drugs and violence.

I am a streetkid myself, I do weed, but I would never attack someone physically. But I people try to figure me as the evil grandma robbing and innocence stealing outcast.

For example the french prime minister Sarkozy insulted in his election campaign whole groups of immigrants in several parisian quarters, result: a lot of burning cars and garbage bins. He is the first prime minister in europe who is not allowed to show up in certain places in his own country.

I don't think violence is absolutely bad. Revolting against the state means, there are people who want to change something. These people hae to be heard before they declare war on the government. That's called deescalation, a high art of politics, which is not practised by most of our leaders.

If the state which exists to represent the people as a whole, starts to ignore specific groups of the people, it is a right of the ignored citizens to rise up and do everything needed to create a mass which can't simply be ignored.

re-read the original post. he was talking about going into neighborhoods and committing murder against innocent civilians, not government. a lot of suburbians arent particularly rich, and those who are could be doctors, stock brokers, lawyers (yeah, lawyers suck..they're greedy and dishonest, but they dont create law.. they merely prosecute, defend according to law).

his kind of 'revolution' would be no different from what Charles Manson was trying to do. his kind of 'revolution' is really no different from terrorism.

violence IS bad. it only breeds more violence. even ML King Jr was against violence for this very reason.

rich people are rich because they are ethire incredibly lucky (lepercauns) or they are strategic, and have incredibly money skills, or just plain hard workers.

Poor people are poor because they ethire: have some sort of problem, are lazy, are un-amibtious (this isn't actually all that bad being poor doesn't mean you have an uncomfortable life it just means you don't have alot of money), just bad with money, or mabye they just arn't lucky and instead of working hard they continue to blame higher ups of society for they're problems because "they keep opressing them".

Ethire way most of the time it is your problem you are poor. If it isn't then stop complaining.

Not everyone in the suburbs are bad and deserve to die. Sure the government sucks sometime, but can you really blame every single person for that.

And not every poor person is poor because they want to be, sometimes it for reason that to uncontrolable...that much I can understand. But who do you blame for the people who have a chance to move one, but don't want to. The ones who sit and complain about how hard there life is and compare it to people living much larger then them. Trust me...it's hard but not impossible to get out of the ghetto...without hurting anyone to do.

I know people who live in the "ghetto" simply to minister and help them. My best friend lives in the Hispanic section of town in a really bad neighborhood because his father has a Church outreach there. They give out food and clothing there. I know for a fact that most of the people live in this bad neighborhood because they can't get out they are some of the least lazy, and hardest working people I know. I have helped out at that ministry for a while now and have talked to a gang member who risked his life to save a child, I have hear a man tell about how he saved this guy's life and got put in prison for it. it is incredibly sad. There are so many people living in neighborhoods like that(the ghetto) that are the kindest, nicest people you will ever meet. Children, babies. It's horribly sad. And the people there can't do anything about it. Before you say poor people are lazy I think you should meet a few. Before you say its easy to get out of the ghetto you should meet someone who can't.

first, I'd like to say how amazed I am that I would be agreeing with card king...... moving on........

if the poor are so lazy, why is it that the hardest, toughest jobs go to them? you know, the real hard, manual labor work. they get it so they can make enough money top care for their families. and what do you think the rich are doing in these cases? well, they are using their wealth to pay low wages to these hard workers, while they make a killing off of it.

example: construction. manual laborers work their butts off building up buildings for low wage, but the rich people who can afford to get things built will kick back and wait for it to be finished so they can make a big profit selling the building or services within. allthough they never really did any work themselves, they made the most money.

I'm not saying there are not lazy poor people. there are many who PREFER to live off of government checks, welfare, etc. but there are many more who actually NEED it, because the CAN'T get anything better. I used to be one of the lowest level people in my youth, needing government help. however, my mother worked hard to scrape togeather enough money to go back to college for a few semesters. she eventually landed a job working for a shelter. that experience, along with that little bit more college education was enough to get her a better job, working for the government. she is now one of the people who gives the government help, rather than the one recieving. we were lucky, and she wroked hard. we are still lower middle class, but it is better than where we were.
I am now facing similar struggles. I am in college right now, financed soly on government grants and money I work hard to earn and scrape togeather myself. I dont get scholarships because those only go to the rich, important people.
