What do these characters mean?

I found these two characters a while ago, and it's been bothering me since then. I can't seem to find a translation for them. Please help?

奚 - [I believe this is Chinese.]
雨 - [And I think this is Kanji.]

The second one seems to be Mandarin...
I'm not positive though.
But I know it means rain. :3

the second one is deffinitely chinese and yes it means rain

2nd one is Chinese and it means rain... I can't read the 1st one though but maybe because my Chinese isn't that good....

The second is "Ame" that means "rain" in japanese.

well, I forgot what the first character is (-__-) but the second character is both chinese and japanese kanji. In chinese it's "yu" and that means rain (of course mentioned a lot). I asked my grandpa about the first character and I think it's pronouced "yi". I'm not sure though...

sorry, I typed yi wrong, the first character's actually pronounced "xi" DX

It's Mandarin above I think and Chinese/Japanese for the second character. It means rain like those above said before me. In Cantonese its pronounced "yi". (Yay for my Pingyung. ><)

Kanji is the just the Japanese word for the character system shared by certain oriental countries. While Japan and Korea have developed phonetic characters for their languages, China still only uses the 'kanji' system. (And Mandarin is only the name for the main Chinese dialect, although it is still 'Chinese' - just like Cantonese, etc.) Anyhow, both characters listed above are part of the same system.

And to answer your question:

奚 = servant; in other contexts it can mean what or why.
雨 = rain.
