last week i came across a youtube channel that has a fan made retrospective spanning almost everything pokemon[the games, the anime, the offshoots/spin-offs, the toys, even the manga!]. they may still only be dealing with the second generation right now, but there's still a bunch of videos from the first gen that's available to watch. it's some really great stuff. you can watch it here or here
