I'm walking the road to dawn...
Marco gently took the black feather away from the girl's hand. He crushed the feather in his hand, shattering it into tiny pieces of data that faded away. "Forget you saw it," he answered her question. His answer wasn't really an answer, but he didn't want to go around telling strangers his situation considering how touchy the subject was. He was not a regular tamer, he was a Fallen Tamer who was cursed by Ogudamon to walk by his side as his partner (he felt more like a slave). He didn't want to drag anyone into this situation nor did he want any pity. The fact she saw his wing was a mistake, he would need to be more careful in the future so that no one else would see it. He blinked when he saw her become flustered and kneel down in order to bow to him. Now it was his turn to blush, no one had ever bowed like that to him especially not a girl! "I-It's okay, its not a big deal, really!" he kneel down just like she did and bowed as well just not as deeply as she did. Did she just called him sir?
Veemon was holding back his chuckled, but he knew that he couldn't enjoy this moment for too long. He walked up to his partner and tapped him on the shoulder to grab his attention. "We should get going before those digimon return," Veemon knew that the longer they stayed in one place the more likely they were to encounter those digimon. So far they managed to activate nearly every detector, luck was not on their side. Marco nodded and stood up, he walked over to the girl and offered her his hand to stand. "My name is Marco Sombra de Milagros," once she took his hand and they were both standing, he started making his way down the hall again.

Some distance away, a pair of eyes were looking at the group, more specifically five pair of eyes. They were snickering and carried mischievous smirks on their faces.
"There they are..." "Our new prey~" "the girl looks tasty...I call her!" "Silence you fool! We will kill them all..." "Yes, brothers let's go greet our food"
The voices all laughed maniacally and the sound of their wings flapping echoed through the dark corridor.

Marco heard the devastating laughter and the wings violently flapping. So far all the digimon that came seemed to have that similarity among them and this time it was no different. Marco sighed, dodging would not work a third time and he was tired of running away. He stopped walking and turned around to face the darkness. He was worried about the girl, but she had a digimon as well meaning she would be able to take care of herself. Marco took out his digivice hearing the voices coming closer. His hand glowed like before, but this time the blue bits of data flying around appeared on both of his hands and they were spreading to his forearms. Veemon stepped forward getting ready to battle. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, this part was always overwhelming because of the surge of power.
"Veemon Wrap-Digivolve to...AeroVeedramon!" Veemon changed in sizes like before, but this time he grew bigger and wings spread from his back. Blades appeared out of his arms and metal shoulder armors were placed on each of his shoulders. His horns and claws were longer and sharper. The pair of wings he grew were very large and they could easily carry not only his weight, but the weight of others. The inside of the wings were red like the color of blood. AeroVeedramon took deep breaths trying to keep control of his power; he always became agitated in this form.
Marco could see their opponents approaching they were a group of devil-like red digimon wearing dark clothing. He looked at his digivice's catalog for more information. The information he received was not pleasant at all. These digimon were ultimate level meaning their power was greater than the Devimon they faced earlier. Marco frowned, AeroVeedramon might have his hands full in this battle. He could see about five of them and he was only one ultimate against five. 'No, AeroVeedramon is strong...' he still remembered their first battle against Leviamon, one of the Demon Lords, they were beaten of course, but AeroVeedramon lasted for a good amount of time before being taken down and that was while carrying him on his back. AeroVeedramon was at his best in the skies, part of the reason he lasted so long against Leviamon was because the sky was endless, limitless, but this situation was different. They were in a confined space, the dark halls restricted AeroVeedramon's movements.
"Dragon Impulse!" AeroVeedramon roared, launching a shock-wave which formed into the shape of a dragon. The Phelesmon began to shout, their combined piercing screams clashed AeroVeedramon's shock-wave-dragon. The combined forces caused a mini explosion which filled the hall with smoke. AeroVeedramon flew threw the smoke charging towards the Phelesmon, "Twister Saber!" The blades on his arms glowed with energy. He thrust his arms forward as if punching which caused the energy from his blade to be released in the form of cutting waves. The blades slashed through one of Phelesmon, cutting it cleanly in half. AeroVeedramon used his momentum to headbutt the Phelesmon directly in front of him, the horn on his snout pierced the Phelesmon in the chest. AeroVeedramon pulled back and as he did the two Phelesmon he attacked screamed in despaired as they burst into data before fading away into nothing.
The remaining Phelesmon used their pitchforks to try and stab the intruder to death. They couldn't believe their brothers were just deleted in front of them, but they needed to get over that shock otherwise their lives would be next.
"Magnum Crusher!" AeroVeedramon punched the pitchforks with glowing fists of energy. He jabbed one of the Phelesmon in the face sending it flying against the wall. The two Phelesmon used their shout attack; AeroVeedramon used his arms and wings to shield himself, but he was still knocked back against the opposite wall. Marco was right, the confined space was limiting AeroVeedramon's performance in battle, but the Phelesmon were in the same situation so at least the match was somewhat even. AeroVeedramon was able to use the smoke (created from the explosion) to launch a surprise attack which successfully defeated two of the five Phelesmon. He caught them off-guard, but now they would be fully alert. Marco wasn't sure what to do, AeroVeedramon would only be able to last for so long against three ultimate level digimon. Marco quickly looked at his surroundings trying to draw some kind of inspiration. Meanwhile, AeroVeedramon and the Phelesmon were exchanging blows. AeroVeedramon continued to used his 'Magnum Crusher' while the Phelesmon tried to stab him with their weapons. They were dodging his attacks much easier now and were getting closer to landing a strike.
Marco looked up at the ceiling and his face lit up; he had an idea! "AeroVeedramon aim your attack at the ceiling!" Marco shouted his order and AeroVeedramon nodded. Marco turned to Nikky and Kamemon, "we have to run, this place is going to collapse." He grabbed Nikky's wrist and began to run knowing that they would follow.
When AeroVeedramon heard Marco's request, he instantly knew what his partner was thinking. This was not the ideal place to battle especially for an aerial digimon like him. This place was like a cage and if he wanted to survive than he would need to lock his enemies within. "V-Breath Arrow!" AeroVeedramon shot a V-shape heat beam at the Phelesmon who quickly dodged. The beam hit the ceiling instead which caused the perfect distraction as the Phelesmon tried to dodge the falling ceiling. AeroVeedramon took this chance to ensure that the Phelesmon would be trapped. He turned around and spread his wings as he flew down the hall towards Marco, Nikky, and Kamemon. "V-Wing Blade!" A V-shape energy was formed over AeroVeedramon's body which seemed to be connected from his horn-snout to the edges of his wings. AeroVeedramon soared through the halls, the V-shape energy cutting across the walls causing the hall to start to break down. Once that was finished, AeroVeedramon stopped his attack and turned around to deliver the final blow, "Dragon Impulse!" AeroVeedramon roared, his shouts taking the form of a dragon. The dragon ran down the hall causing the ceilings and wall to break down. The walls caved in and the ceiling fell which caused the Phelesmon to be trapped.
AeroVeedramon de-digivolved returning to his Veemon form. The blue dragon-species was panting. Marco ran towards Veemon and kneel down to inspect, "are you okay?" Veemon took a deep breath and then sighed. He was feeling a bit tired, but he nodded knowing his energy would return after a small rest. Marco picked Veemon up, carrying him on his back like he were given him a piggy-back ride. The dark-haired teen returned to Nikky and Kamemon, "we should keep moving, those walls might not hold the Phelesmon forever and we need to reach the next area in order to continue the mission." He continued walking while Veemon rested on his back.
