A new world for some, an old world for others. The Kingdom of Erus is fairly new in the world , planted upon an island where the natives built and survived for the longest. Many centuries have passed before the idea of the kingdom came about and once it did, it received its visitors. New land beyond theirs that many wanted to know of. Some were afraid and some were curious, probably both. Our story takes place in this world, following a woman who has a desire to explore and a thirst for adventure. Seeking her crew for a ship, a ship that isn't hers, to set sail to new lands and seek treasure beyond others dreams. There are new places to see , friends and foes to make, and the seven seas to survive. It's up to her and the crew to figure if they will make their life voyage, or let the sea swallow them too quickly for no one to truly see. Everyone has a story to tell upon these waters.

Background In this world there were all sorts of species besides humans who lived across the lands. A few millenniums ago the world was sent into a division between the lesser creatures (humans) and those that wielded strength and magic. The division lasted for centuries until they began to rise and wield their own magic. Some humans were able to wield minor magic, and with enough training it became of use for a defense. Other humans were able to wield great amounts of magic, and used their abilities to gain equal rights amongst the other creatures. These humans were chosen, warlocks they were called. The only sort of traits these warlocks had in common were their fair skin, hair and pale blue eyes. Where did their magic come from? Many warlocks did not know, and any others that did refused to speak or hid from the world.
The equality only lasted for a few centuries, for most humans feared that the creatures would rise again and so the elimination of non-human creatures began in many human dominate kingdoms. The creatures fled, finding little chance with the warlocks. Many were able to escape with the help of rogue warlocks, and fled to find sanctuary in uncharted lands. Since ever, the outlaws of these creatures have been remained set and any creature of the sort is to be put to death. Any such creature is rarely spotted, maybe one in a year these days.
Magic Notes ♦The percentage of magic that can be used in humans is listed below. All Warlocks have blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin (all that have ever been seen). People that have these traits aren't automatically assumed warlocks either.
♦Other magic creatures (elves, werewolves) are given a specific set of skills/magic and other variety of magic is very difficult to learn for them and some types of magic will be impossible for them to learn. Only humans, capable of magic, can learn various types of magic and can be unlimited.
♦Humans incapable of magic can use relics, charms and enchantments to perform magic though it's only limited to the physical item that wields magic.
Theme: Fantasy, Adventure Setting: Victorian style times with magic (guns are fairly expensive).
Creatures Humans: Creatures capable of wielding various sort of magics. Only 5% of the human population consist of warlocks (able to wield powerful magic, dangerous if untrained). 50% are capable of wielding minor magic (requires training to perform useful spells). 45% are unlikely to hold any natural magical abilities with in them, but luckily there are magical trinkets and enchantments they can use for a price.
Merfolk: Creatures of the water, half human half fish. Their tail can become legs upon dry land though their affiliation with water and air is weakened. Will become their true form if submerged into a body of water.
(More will be added as characters come, characters created will have their species placed here. Feel free to be creative).
Characters Jane Mc'Lous -Taken (F)
The captain of the crew, started it upon her home town in the Kingdom of Erus. During her search time there were many visitors of other lands that she was planning to see, but that also meant they held a skill in sailing. Perhaps more than she did, but she wouldn't let them see that. Very distant and harsh, quick to show dominance and will do so through fear if not respect. Worked on the docks and theft before becoming what is now she plans the life of a pirate. She has a greater reason to be out on sea than just for exploration and treasure, but that is a secret and is most likely going to keep her at sea forever.
Jane's Cousin - Open (M)
One of the crew members. Has been with Jane for a year as he was given to her by his parents to be looked after, unaware that he had a cousin in the first place. Despite not much difference in age, times were hard and his parents took little care of him. Jane took him in and made way for him to work and help feed himself. She is now dragging him along to be apart of her crew, rather she gave him a choice, but felt he wouldn't have much of a chance out in the market. The only close one to the Captain, The Second Mate, as she believes he can't really handle the duty she wants her First Mate to have to keep a grip on her crew.
Navigator - Helps guide the ship through the waters, knows how to read all sort of maps, often takes hold of the wheel through rough waters.
Medic - Responsible to keep the crew in working shape.
Chef - Responsible for preparing meals to keep the crew fueled and going.
First Mate - Second in command, responsible to help meet the Captain's needs. Is often required to train the crew and take command to do what is best when the Captain isn't around.
Head of Maintenance - Responsible to keep the ship up and running, very good with their hands, tools and mechanics of all sorts.
Crew Members- x9 Works on the ship, helps around with the chef, maitenance, cleaning, and most often to help move the ship on command. Must be prepared and armed for battle.

Profiles Name: Jane Mc'Lous Age: 19 Gender: Female Species: Half Merfolk Role: Captain
History Jane lived with her father growing up, her mother was killed giving birth to her and her twin brother. Her father was human, and naturally their mother was something different that her and her brother learned about at a young age. They weren't living in Erus at the time, and they had to move quickly in fear of their own lives. It came a little too late for her brother, Jane and her father left quickly after he was taken and killed.
They lived peacefully on the island, her father a craftsman who worked on many ship vessels made good money for them. Jane spent time with a nanny, most of her care and education came from her though Jane sought out her own education as well. When out and about she met another girl, the daughter of a noble named Mary Tynel, of her age out by the sea. They ended up good friends for many years, often playing music out on the docks or along the beach while exploring. As time passed, more responsibility came and their time together seemed to be slowing. Mary was slowly working her way onto the ships, a sailor of sorts, and Jane would wait for her to return. Jane herself eventually got herself work on the docks, moving and working with supplies. Shortly later her father passed away, not a shock to her.
One day as she watched the ship leave docks, Mary on board, much went wrong in the distance. A few miles out into the sea, the ship could be seen sinking far end. Jane feared for her friend, risking her life for hers, she jumped from the docks into the ocean to return Mary alive. Mary was now aware of Jane's darkest secret, though she couldn't ever send her friend to death especially since her own life was saved. Some were skeptical of Jane since that event, despite their convincing stories. Mary eventually sailed away and never returned, Jane spent the next few months waiting for a letter. Eventually her cousin came to her surprise of his existence , and she worked to settle him into her life. With in the ending year her patience were wearing thin, she made a decision to head for the seas and see what else is out there. She wanted to find Mary, or at least what has happened to her.
Other Has her hair cut to shoulder length, a tad messy at times to and often wears a large leather hat to show her title. She's a distant woman, usually only carrying a conversation with her cousin and business talk with the rest of the crew. Quick in learning, and quick to take charge as well. Some have taken assumptions that she's a borderline sociopath. She genuinely cares for her cousin, at first because he reminded her a lot of her brother, but because he's grown on her. She won't show it to him though. She brought a long a pet creature for the boat to help catch any rats or vermin onto the boat. Vapalus, a blue creature, much like a frog, that is an omnivore. It uses it's tongue to grab it's prey and trap it in it's mouth, it can emit a poison from it's skin to any predator that may consume it. They make nice pets once their poison glands are removed, in which Jane hasn't had them removed and she often reminds to crew not to pick him up or scare him. She calls him Victor.
Abilities: She is affiliated with element of water and can bend a little bit of it to her will, though needs more practice. She is a skilled sword fighter, earning this skill over time since she was fifteen when Mary told her stories of the rotten men she ran into. Other pirates. Jane was interested in the wild combat they performed that their military in Erus didn't. If placed into a body of water (puddles count even) she'll form fins along her arms and legs with webbed fingers and toes. Her canines sharpen, as she becomes more aquatic like. Her affiliation with water strengthens, her speed and strength with in the water increases as well. She is rarely in this form, for obvious reasons.
Weapons/Other: Two short swords, a dagger , a vial of poison to tip her blades with if time is given. Often has a leather pack with some maps, food, books, rope and chain. She wears a ring on her left hand, indicating she's married. She carries a pan flute that she likes to play to pass the time.
