Being the only non-employee woman in a hobbyist electronics/DIY computing store and knowing exactly what I'm looking for, and how to use about 90% of the store's products. I sure baffled a good number of middle-aged men. emotion_awesome

Some of them looked genuinely confused as if they were thinking, "Wait, women know how to use this stuff?" And others looked pleasantly intrigued, like seeing me there was a refreshing change.

Mom just kinda followed behind me all "I CAN'T EVEN. WHAT ARE THOOOOSEE?" the whole time, so I had to stop to explain what a microcontroller was, how resistors work, what heat shrinks are used for, the differences in wire gauges and how to identify what size a wire is, etc. One guy kinda grinned when he overheard me explaining something.
