Starting over is natural. It makes the most sense when you have multiple pokemon games. I mean, I'll restart Emerald in order to obtain another 2nd gen starter to pass that on to Diamond.
If you wanted to convince me that you were insane, though, then you should have gotten Pokemon Battle Revolution first, tied your DS game to PBR, then restarted the DS game... yeah, that'd be pretty crazy.
