i hear the beat
up from the street
the urban sound
steams from the ground

people's voices
reflecting there choices
most of them knowing
were their lives are now going

cars and taxi's rush hour noise
lonely girls and lonelier boys
cast off from society love
i look at them from my pad up above

me soul and symphony is just a line in the tune
and yet it takes only one line to swoon
but do i have the ambition
or will my soul come to an empty fruition

i will lose my self in a little slumber
as the city music continues to lumber
i may be just a line in this tapastry
least i can say that line is just me

intersting feel to your poetry. it reminds me of a jazz/blues kind of style at least that's what i believe it's called. that first poem has a few interesting word choices, but i would like to see better word choice in some parts, like lonesome replacing lonelier. the gentle beat can be felt in your poetry.

There once was a fish named kish
Who had a friend called mish
Kish always wanted to live in a dish
And a chef fulfilled his wish
