Here's a little christmas story I finished writing....It's called "Yule Miracle".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They're not coming. After all we've been through, after all the adventures we've had, they've forgotten about me;even after all the things I've given up to help them.My own guild has forsaken me because I decided to aid my friends in destroying their creations,a necromancer who has too much compassion for life has no place in a guild who's goal is death. So I sit in my home alone, the only noise coming from the raging fire I sit in front of.The table is layed out with food that no one will ever touch tonight, the food I had prepaired in a vain hope that they would show up at my door;complaining at the cold and laughing as I open my door to them.I suppose I knew all along that they wouldn't show, why would they share yule with a necromancer when they could be celebrating it with the rest of the town?Sinking back into my chair,I sigh heavily;at least there would be plently of leftovers for me to eat for the weeks to come. But just as I was starting to dose off,I heard a soft knocking;my head turning slowly to look at the door. There was no way it could be my old adventuring party, they would never knock softly;at least, the barbarian wouldn't have,he would have possible broken down my door.
Walking slowly to the door,I opened in;and stared at what was standing before me.A woman with three small children, the smallest,a girl, held in her arms;all shivering in the cold.I could see that they had no place to call their own, their clothes were tattered;and the little girl was coughing badly...
"Kind sir..."The woman began."Could you spare some gold so that I may feed my children? All the other houses have turned us down...."
"My Lady...I have no gold to spare,I fear.."I saw her look sadly at her children."...But you are more than welcome to come into my home and share yule with me.I have food already prepaired..I thought my friends would show, but they seem to have forgotten about me."
"Thank you so much....."
"Call me Armond...."
Moving so they could enter,I hurried to fetch some warm blankets;allowing them to warm themselves by the fire as I prepaired plates of food for them. This wasn't the yule I had imagianed, and these wern't the people I thought I would be celebrating with;but I could've truly cared less,it was better than spending yet another holiday alone.Though I couldn't offer anything more than food and warmth, they seemed to be happy;which in turn made me happy as well. And though they knew what I was, they didn't seem to mind;the little girl,Lily, seemed to enjoy sitting in my lap all the same as I read yule tales to the children, delighting in the smiles on their faces. When they were asleep,I helped their mother,Lynne, put them in my bed;then we sat on the rug near the fire, both of us just lost in the moment of peace.
"Thank you again for allowing us to stay with you....you have a kind heart Armond..."Lynne smiled at me.
"Think nothing of it.It's depressing to spend Yule alone...I'm happy you trusted a necromancer enough to come inside my home..."
"The children like you....I never thought they would like anyone else after their father was killed....."Her smile turned sad."He was such a kind man,and he was killed by ghouls..."
"I'm sorry for your loss....."Then an idead entered my mind."You and the children can stay for as long as you like.I don't mind at all...and this way you won't have to worry about them going hungry."
"Thank you...I think we'll take you up on the offer...."
I suppose everyone is entitled to one miracle in their lifetime, and I believe this one was mine. The next day my old friends did show up,saying that they had been tied up by trolls and wondering if there was still the offering of spending winter with me.I could only laugh and let them in,and the children seemed to delight in the tales of our adventures. And I got a rare second miracle, within a few more weeks,in the dead of winter,Lynne and I got married; the entire town showing up to wish us a happy life together.Who knows why I was blessed with two Yule miracles, but I'm glad I was...after all,I suppose even necromancers have the right to be happy...

You set the scene and characters very well. The grammar and punctuation is awful; spaces are your friends! Try to check everything before displaying it to the world. Though a little corny (and predictable), I do like the story. It might be nice if you made this into a longer story, elaborating on the characters a little, maybe including a flashback, and some more background on Lynne and her children.
Overall, I like it ^^
