I love metal but I hate slipknot. They have 9 members and there are bands 100x better than them. Disturbed is ok but I don't really like it if it is really mainstream. I like Opeth, Tool, Children of Bodom, Ayreon, Gallhammer, Fear Factory, Brain Drill, and alot more. Look at my profile to see more bands I like.

V likes Jamiroquai and James Brown as two of his favorite bands/artists and Apulanta definitely has some of my favorite songs

i'm more of a rock fan than metal. i love disturbed and linkon park and dragonforce, but i think those are the only metal bands. well, that i know the name of. i'm more into random songs.
with rock, i like stuff like three days grace, rise against, the used, my chemical romance, green day, nickelback, breaking benjamin, trapt (some stuff at least), and others, but i'm not gonna continue.
when it comes to rap, the only stuff i like is zebrahead, but i think they're more rock than rap so i dunno if you'd say they count... yeah, i'm done.

well, I am not so much a genre as I am for individual bands and songs. but if i must choose, i guess im for metal, rock, and oddly enough dance/trance/techno. Basically it has to have a good message or a good original sound, unlike everything else out there.
as to bands, I like twisted sister, motorhead, pink floyd, quiet riot, green day( that CD with american idiot.... loved it all!), dragonforce, linkin park, presidents of the united states of america, bon jovi, and daft punk.
as for songs:
top: "sandstorm" - DJDarude, "cliffs of dover" - eric johnson, "we're not gonna take it" - twisted sister, "through the fire and flames" - dragonforce, and finally "The ending theme to legenmd of zelda: windwaker".
then there is: "murphy and the bricks" - noel murphy, "the wall" - pink floyd, "hands held high" - linkin park, and "american ideot" - green day
there are more, but those really stand out.

I listen to country & this other kind, but I don't really know what it is considered.
Some of them are like:
3Doors Down
Lifehouse
Goo Goo Dolls
Train
I have know idea what kind of Music category these groups fall under.

The majority is pretty much Indie.
Two Hours Traffic,
The Strokes (They're kind of rock-indie),
Stuff like that.
Although Jazz and Blues is pretty great,
Jane Monheit,
Miles Davis,
Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts.
