I believe they may be for the game Ragnarök Online.

This would seem to be accurate.

The fellow on the left in that picture is wearing the same exact outfit as one of the main characters in Ragnarok: The Animation. Other than that anime, I don't think there are any other Ragnarok movies/animations, meaning the pics are probably for said game.

They're from Angelic Layer.

Do I really have to try and remember their names, though?

The little girl is the Deus / controller. Like Misaki+Hikaru, her doll (was that what they called them?) was the light-weight, fast type. In particular, Misaki learned that one spinning kick move from their battle (although I can't remember its name...)

The characters you asked about would be other characters from the anime. Okay, a quick stop at AnimeNFO easily gives us the name of the little girl; Kobayashi Hatoko. A brief Google search of that name reveals that the name of her doll is Suzuka, nicknamed "Lightspeed Suzuka".

So, to summarize...

The one on the left looks like a scene from When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). That would be my guess on the source of that.


The right one doesn't immediately ring a bell but I want to think about it a bit more.

Okay, it's possible that the one on the right is also When They Cry. The girl, at least, looks like she's from it. If this is When They Cry, the guy probably looked completely different when the scene was captured. (However, since I've never seen that scene in the anime, I can't say for certain.)

I had found a different image of the first one, & I think she may be from Higurashi.

The Brunette on the far right.

Except for the hair color do they look like the same character?
