Tell me what you think of it.
She watched him, a soft blush on her cheeks.
Like always she sat in the shadows, watching him.
He was ignorant of her eyes on him, watching him move.
A shiver ran up and down her spine, listening to his laughter.
For a moment she felt envy for those who could be with him.
She longed to be the one he laughed for, wanted to be the one he gifted with his smiles.
A sigh escaped her lips as she bowed her head.
Getting up feeling defeated by her own emotions, she made her way out of the shadows.
Leaving behind her heart and happiness with him.
Her feet guided her down the street and to the beach.
The wind sang with contentment, the ocean crashing into the sand.
It felt so alive and almost like anticipating her arrival.
And like always she sat down on her usual spot.
Tears gathering in her eyes and trailing down her cheeks.
She was unaware of the eyes staring at her from the water.
Those eyes burned with sadness and anger.
Filled with longing, to be able to wipe away the tears and to hold her.
They watched until she got up and walked away from the beach.
A new day and perhaps a new beginning.
She was smiling, this would be her day.
Today she would talk to him and no longer just watch.
But it was never meant to be…
He announced he had a girlfriend to his friends.
She stared, shock racing through her.
Her heart cracked, broke and shattered.
Tears trailing down her face and hitting the pavement.
Loud laughter filled her ears and she looked up.
She saw him, kissing his new girlfriend.
The girl’s eyes shining with a cruel light.
Shaking her head she turned and dropped her bag.
She never saw him turn around and stare after her.
His eyes filled with confusion.
Her feet guided her to the beach.
Tears dropping into the sand.
Eyes from the ocean watched her and became sad.
The eyes closed, a decision made.
The wind whipped around her, a storm in the air.
Ocean becoming rougher and the waves crashing hard against the sand.
The waves rose higher and higher.
She looked up right when a wave loomed over her.
No time to run, or to scream.
The wave caught her, pulling her into the ocean.
Water filled her lungs and she sank to the bottom of the sea.
Eyes stared at her and hands reached down.
They grabbed her and pulled her to a chest.
Opening her eyes weakly, she saw him.
Eyes of the Ocean, watching her.
He smiled at her, eyes shining with love and tenderness.
A hand rose to touch his cheek, lungs clearing of water.
Her heart beating with new life.
Bowing forward he pressed a kiss to her lips.
Her arms wrapped around his neck.
Tails became entwined and joined.
He hugged her close, never letting go.
The ocean had claimed her heart.
Water had taken her away.
And into the arms of this man.
Her eyes twinkled with love and happiness.
She was where she belonged.
Like always she sat in the shadows, watching him.
He was ignorant of her eyes on him, watching him move.
