The Grim Vaults

[Strideo]

There are a series of vaulted chambers here all connected to each other to form a gallery of stone pillars and vaulted ceilings. In the center of each vaulted chamber there is a crypt in the floor marked with a stone slab. The crypts are in very stone floor with only the stone lid barely raised higher than the surrounding floor so you can walk right over them easily. There are odd bits of bone and a few skulls littered around the area too. On the far walls of these chambers you can see that there are crypts in the walls as well.

Crap! ZOMBIES!

Woah! This area is teaming with zombies! They're practically crawling out of the walls!

alright more zombies. with a a fully recovered power she took her chances,

I c**k my guns when I see the army of zombies. This is gonna be tough.

I start shooting, taking 4 down, Unfortunately, my body wants to flee, so I run north.

I run through, heading south.

Glurf smirked, as he pounced off the wall and at a zombie. Unfortunately, he missed and hit his knee against the wall. He broke his knee, and winced. He looked behind him at the only zombie near him. Due to the odd shape of his elf blade, he threw it at the zombie's head, slicing it off. It flew back at Glurf like a boomerang. He used his elf healing powers to at least let Glurf be able to walk. He stood, and walked slowly toward the south.

As he entered the vaults Mr. If's skin went pale. Well, paler than it already was. There was a hoard of zombies in this area!

"Well, here goes!" Mr. If quickly unlatched the brass key ring and pulled a beautiful elegant silver key from it. The key had an unusual wavy design. He tossed the key into the middle of the zombies and there was a powerful flash! For just a brief instant there was the faint outline of a lithe woman with long flowing hair but now there was nothing but the whirlwind whipping through the chamber.

This was Lafelial the wind elemental created by a wise sorceress hundreds of years ago. Suddenly the wind began shredding the zombies one by one. Mr. If was in awe of Lafelial's power.

Not sure of how much longer he could count on her assistance he directed her to come south with him.



EDIT: Mr. If walked to the north end of the vaults zapping at a few of the shambling zombies still in the area with sparks from his wand.  

[Zphal]

Zphal blanched at the sight of the swarming zombies, almost losing her nerve. With the number of lost souls in here, her shotgun (which required reloading every couple of shots) would be useless. She holstered the weapon and drew her long swords from her back, ready to engage in the dance of death.

A number of zombies drew close. Zphal let out a war cry and took down one to her right and one to her left. One lunged, she dodged and slashed off his head, which splattered onto the stone cobblestones beneath their feet, rolling to a stop. She dodged another attack and another, cleaving a pair of legs clean off, and then a zombie through the middle.

Zphal continued, using the pillars to her advantage, hiding behind them and leaping out, using her speed over the slow-witted monsters. She chopped, sliced, diced; body parts rolled, she had to leap over them at times.

A couple of zombies managed to sink their claws into her at various points during the battle, but Zphal was so pumped full of adrenaline, she barely felt the blows. She nipped off fingers and toes, servered heads and limbs. Nothing could stop her as she whirled, ducked, and careened.

Finally, panting, heaving, the undead horde was elimated, leaving a din of moaning surviors who were incapacitated. Zphal dropped her weapons to the ground and collapsed to her knees, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she tried to recover from the onslaught.

Zphal carefully stepped and tip-toed over the living dead and the unliving living dead alike as she headed north.  

[Zphal]

Zphal passed through, headed for the "Chamber of Bones" she had seen on the map in Wispy's quarters. No doubt more zombies would await her in a room with such a spooky name.

One of the zombies lying on the floor grabbed at her ankle. She gave it a kick and continued on.
