okay so i'm a total loner. however it didn't always used to be like that i used to have tons of friends unfortunatley the school i was at was crappy so i moved to a different school now i only go one day a week and i don't have any friends it's made me extremely depressed. i would go back to my other school but since i switched schools i've been getting almost straight a's as opposed to c's and d's. it's been getting really bad latley every now and again i'll have thoughts of suicide though it is only sometimes. i have no idea what to do what do u guys think is more important school grades or having a healthyn social life. is there an alternative option (no i can't join a club cause all the clubs are through the school.) i really need help cause im at a loss.

hippie34, I think grades are more important. Good grades will get you a good job. If you go back to your old school, all you have to do is work just as hard as your working now. Trust me, I know how hard it is. I'm a straight "A" student and I got a "B" in P.E. I also think that socialism is also very important. If you have no friends, well, tahts not good for you. I bet if you made some friends it would help you out a lot. Well, thats all the advice I can give you. GOOD LUCK!!

Its better to look dumber than you really are, than look smarter than you really are.

Is this new school on a diffrent grading system?
Thats what happened to me , so now I get better (not quite as drastic as you) grades than I did.

Noone says you cant still get a good education if you only have Cs and Ds, it will just be much harder .

Well having a full 4 days to do work certainly would boost your grades.

Hm, well. I still say its better to appear dumber than smarter.

heart If your friends are what made you happy, and its a possibility, try going back to your old school.

EVen if your grades drop, you could get a tutor or something.
A good education is ALWAYS avaliable for ANYONE

I don't know if I will be much help in the friend department. I didn't start making friends until a graduated from school and started working. (I get along better with people who are older than I am). I was loner not by choice, I was ignored through out school life, I got decent grades, but I wanted to murder the others and came to hate all of humanity.

Making friends in the same age group is difficult for me since i still can't stand some of them. hmmm... are you not in contact with your old friends from your previous school? I was wondering about that.

All I can say is, keep in contact with at least one friend and hang out when you can. One good friend beats none.

school can be a b***h when it comes to making friends, I had a similar problem when I moved schools for the same reasons. I spent 6 years at a good public school, which did wonders for me academically but destroyed me socially. The first couple of years weren't bad, but it got worse as I got bullied, and noone seemed to be into the things I was.

I agree with Havoc Fury Magnus, one good friend is worth alot more than a bunch of "friends" razz if u can find someone to talk to, someone to stay in contact with, it makes thing easier to deal with.

when I moved school after that, things changed, partly because I knew I could start afresh as a person, and partly because the school was much friendlier.

I couldn't say what is more important, if you're growing academically that is good for the future, but it isn't nice to be feeling the way u are. I've suffered from similar feelings, I've been close to suicide but thankfully never went through with it. If you have these feelings, I strongly advise you to talk to someone... well... I guess u're talking to us lol but it does help to talk to someone face to face. I went to the school chaplin/priest/whatever u call them. Maybe there's a teacher you trust or something. but it's important to talk to someone about it.

well.. that's my tuppence for ya pirate I hope it helps a little smile

First of all, you are not the only person who feels alone and depressed in high school it happens a lot. Since you go to school only once a week I can see how it could be hard to meet people and keep up with them. But, as the others guys suggested try and keep in touch with at least one good friend from your other school. Also, since you go to school once a week, why not use the rest of the week to visit your friend's at lunch in your old school? As for your depression, talk to someone you trust, and who you know will listen to you. Although I've never dreamt of suicide, I've helped out a few friends who were, and my best advice is to talk to someone, better yet talk to a consoler who could find you some help.

it's always worth gettin in touch even if u've not been in touch for a while... otherwise, u just need to get yourself out there. any local family of similar ages? I've never been good at it, but there's always random people in shops, at game arcades, anywhere really... someone at a game store or something, ask for an opinion on a video game, or a book or something... if there is somehting u like doing, like a sport, agame, anything, have a look on the net to see if there are any groups in your area that you could join. you said your school has clubs, I'd say try one of them. do anythng that gets u near other people and in a situation where u might make a friend.

and don't worry, it's so very easy to feel completely screwed when things don't seem to be going well. Keep positive, do things that make u feel better. I know it's easy to lie there feeling sorry for yourself, I've done that plenty, but you'll get over it. You'll make a friend, meet someone, who knows...

ok, sorry, that sounded so like a lecture LOL I'm sorry about that mrgreen

otherwise, don't worry, u've got plenty of time ahead of you I'd think, so I'm sure u'll make it biggrin

There's little to say that hasn't been said yet. I do have one little song though my friend. That I would like you to hear. It made me think and hopefully you too. Here it is.

well that song was um interesting kinda scared me a little but yeah im not as worried about the suicidal thoughts cause they only come along every once in a while they are not consistent im more worried about is that if i sink more into dpression they will as for the clubs i should have explained that better they are through my old school and therefore you can only get in if you are enrolled in that school i don't know how i would get back in contact with any of my friends i've lost all their numbers and stuff to contact them by maybe i could try the phonebook but im not sure if theyll be in there my local phone book is a peice of crap and i can never find anyones number
