try martial arts... and if you're not a girly girl, try mma training... its tough, but its fun and it'll shape you up!!! plus, martial arts and mma are both very helpful in learning discipline for all sorts of things in your life.... "7

My girlfriends friend bought a weighted medicine ball and did the workout DVD it came with and has lost a noticeable amount of weight.

Join a sport. Martial arts is a good way to do it too. You learn how to protect yourself and get in shape. It's really fun and not just for guys.

Technically, if you wanted to do two things at once, just get a subscription to a gym and do basic weight lifting exercises.
Bench press, squats, hang cleans, inclines, pull-downs, curls. I used to weigh quite a bit when I was twelve, got into weight lifting, dropped at least fifty pounds within a year, whilst gaining muscle content all the while.
Right now I'm at a solid 243 and stand to about 6'5" at 16.
