So let's start from the beginning, shall we?

I was in my French Class studying for a test that was coming up in the next three minutes. The bell hadn't rung yet or anything. So, I adjusted myself and then I realized that I was too close to the kid that sat in front of me. I moved back a little. I began studying and the kid that sits in front of me comes in and sets his book bag on his desk and falls asleep.

Of course, I didn't make anything of it. He normally sleeps if he's in a bad mood or didn't get any sleep the night before. Normally, he's a really nice guy.

So, the bell rang and our teacher, Madamoiselle B [name to be disclosed] started reviewing about the forms of 'aller' [allons, allez]. Anyway, that's not the point...

She went to the guy in front of me and tries to wake him up to go review in the hallway since he wasn't taking the test [he hadn't been there for four days]. A couple minutes go by and the test had been given out. Once again Madamoiselle tried to wake him up. He wakes up. Next thing you know, he's swearing up a storm yelling "F*** the hallway! F*** this class!! F*** this f***ing test!!" and takes the desk and throws it down, literally breaking the table portion of the desk. And he picks up the desk again, almost throwing it at our teacher, but stops himself and throws it again, hitting me in the leg. [We all thought it was going to be our faces o___O;]

Then, he goes up to the front, still yelling [mind you] and flips over another desk [yeah, teachers desk.] and walks out.

We all stared at each other. It was so scary. I was almost to the point of tears. I could barely walk all day since my leg hurt [it's fine now, just a fairly large bruise.]. And now that I think about it, it could have been worse, but still.

I have to make a statement tomorrow morning. D:
I'm kind of nervous, actually.

But, everyone seemed fine about it. How was I supposed to react? Does that make me a coward? I'm normally very strong about keeping emotions from people, but that... just freaked the hell out of me. I almost peed my pants, I mean... really?

I'm sorry this was so long... And I'm sorry if you can't respond to it, but I'm just letting off some heat and frustration.

Oh my...He must've had a really bad day...Well, you probably won't be able to read this until after you've made your statement, but that boy is usually very nice, right? So then you know that the outburst was very unlike him, yes? That being said, I don't think it would be fair for you to be afraid of him. In fact, I think it just sounds like you were in shock. Don't worry, I would completely feel the same way. (I'm actually pretty skittish... sweatdrop )
Rest assured, you're not by any means a coward. How could you expect a nice enough guy to lose it like that in front of the class? That's like if you're sitting in your room and a car crashes through the window! Didn't see that coming, did you? wink

Yeah, I've gotten new information about it. I found out from a couple of his friends that he was bipolar, but he refused to believe it. He hadn't taken his medicine in a couple days so, that's my guess on how it triggered. They also said that he didn't remember what had happened the past 24 hours. =/

Thanks for reassuring me I'm not a coward. I mean, I've seen him freak out [in an angry fashion], but nothing like that. He normally keeps it to himself and moves on, you know?

Ow.. That must have hurt a lot.. But I digress..

I would be feeling the same thing as you. On the point of tears, freaked out, the whole shebang! And I'm 18. I went through something similar, but it was a really long time ago.. Meh, why not?

At my high school we have a program for children with mental disabilities. For a semester, I was a teacher's assistant for that class for 1 period and I had to be with one of the kids who was a bit more on the moderate-extreme side of disabilities. even though Wesley, the junior I had to escort and supervise, is generally a sweet, huge, boy, he was constantly having seizures.

These seizures are different from epileptic seizures. What happens is he could suddenly get angry, start yelling, pretty much a tantrum. I had escorted him one day and I noticed that he seemed a bit tired (sign1 of a seizure that might have happened or could be in the process of happening) All I did was touch his shoulder in an assuring way and then he suddenly flip out on me.

He was yelling, trying to kick me (which he did successfully once) and trying to pretty much slap me across the face. Just as suddenly as it came, he was suddenly calm, and crying "Please let *insert my name here* forgive Wesley!" (He always refers to himself in 3rd person. No one knows why, not even his parents.) Of course I forgave him, But I was really scared. Fortunately, a seizure as big as that NEVER happens. I just happened to be assigned to him on the wrong day. And there were so many factors that might have triggered that seizure..

To sum it up. I went through something similar and felt the same exact way as you did. And you aren't a coward. And for how you reacted, it was probably the best way ever. If you (or anyone for that matter) had reacted in any other way, it would have probably been a lot worse.
Sorry if this was a really long response. sweatdrop

Thanks for sharing your story, as well. It definitely made me feel better. 3nodding

I don't know, for some reason this entire week has been strange. Wednesday, French class freakout. Thursday, a false fire alarm [police, ambulance all came. crazzzyy~]. Friday, a drug overdose of someone and her friends pretty much protesting outside the building. Quite strange, I must say.
