Making it "Big"

My goal in life is to change people's lives by becoming popular in the music industry, and hopefully change people's lives.
But, as most of us know, that industry is cold, and harsh.
I've written a few songs.
So here's my question:
What music do most people like to listen to?
What are some good record companies?
What's a good way to attract attention in a good way with music?

Hmmm.....good questions.

I would just listen to a popular radio station and listen to the music to see wants in. I would also check the Top 40 list than listen to songs. That's just an idea.

R&B, Pop, Alterentive, Dance (those are my favorites)

I am not into the music industry, but I like to write stories. I was told do a lot of research to see wants out there.

You should post some of your music on YouTube or another website that could get people to notice in a good way.

Good companies, the only one I can think of now is Sony. I wish I could help more.

Just '"Making it" is hard enough. Start out small, perform as much a possible and you might get lucky and someone might find you. You can also try to make a demo in a studio and approach a record company with it.
