I literally just had the idea, but I think it's pretty interesting. Anyone else think so?
Your different species would be, y'know, the various races. The aliens would focus more on magic, and the humans would focus more on "traditional" weapons. I don't have much beyond that, so help developing this idea would be great!

What about the Spartans. What's special about them. Also you should define "traditional" weapons. Are we talking swords and shields, or energy swords or fire arms, or some combonation these things. What about the AI's like Cortana. Though those could be removed easily, the other things are slightly more important. I'd love to help you hash it out biggrin

Well I was thinking that the Spartans could be "half-magic", with augmentations stemming from having magic woven into them. And by traditional weapons I mean traditional fantasy fare. Current equivalents I've thought of:
Human - Boring, conventional stuff (like always)
Assault Rifle: Automatic Crossbow (4-5 shots)
BR: "Ballista" (large-bolt crossbow)
Shotgun: Multi-shot!
Sniper Rifle: Long-range "Ballista" type weapon, or an exceptionally powerful bow
along with usual swords and axes and the like
Covenant - Fun and exciting, weird stuff
Plasma Pistol: Glove or gauntlet that fires low-energy firebolts
Plasma Rifle: Larger glove/gauntlet, fires high-energy firebolts quicker, but can burn user
Energy Sword: Looks like usual sword, cuts like usual sword. STARTS ON FIRE.
Gravity Hammer: Staff. Or big hammer. Or anything really that's big enough to look awesome.
As for AI, I don't know. I might be able to think of something. Familiars or something.
