The Backstory

The continent of the Krantra held four different Kingdoms, each ruled by a King or Queen. Much to the Queen of the Kingdom of Jayde, the Other three kingdoms were at the brink of war. Only the Queen of Jayde keeps the three kingdoms from an all out war. A request went out to all in the four different Kingdoms from the Queen of Jayde. A request for adventures or heroes willing to give up their lives for a task worth much reward. On your way to the Kingdom of Jayde, you had stopped at the Inn known as The Rosebud. Hoping to lend your aid to the Queen or in search of riches, you stopped at the inn to rest the night before entering the Kingdom through its one civilian entrance closest to the Queen's castle.

In a plot unknown to you, the innkeeper had drugged the food and drink to ensure you will be knocked out for some time. The story begins once you all awake.

The Rules

Seeing as this is slightly an RPG, any feats you would want to do will need a dice roll. Depending on the difficultly and the class/job you choose, the number to succeed will change. After the attempt to roll to try a feat I will write a post explaining what happens. This is to stop the Godmodding, as well as place characters in danger so no one does anything foolish. Consequences will be passed out if you try and do something and fail, as well as rewards given if you succeed. (Example, If you try and steal and you get caught, you can end up in trouble. By the same standards, if you steal and pass the roll, you will be rewarded with possible money and jewels; perhaps even enchanted weapons. 'Feats' or actions, such as picking a lock or trying to sneak past someone will require a roll. (depending on how well the roll did I will respond with a quick blurb about what happened as fast as I can).

This is also a fantasy RP, set in a medevil time set with magic as a possible counter for technology. Think Lord of the Rings mechanics with magic from the world of Harry Potter. (If you've played D&D it'll work out something like that).

1. Follow the ToS and such.
2. PM me the Profiles.
3. Be sure to keep it under R rating. Things such as swearing, briefly mentioned nudity and gore are all relatively okay, but please do not go into detail. If you decide to want to make it R, take it to the PM's or skip over it.
4. Title the PM 'By The Dread Wolf'
5. Please try to write more then a few lines of text. A small paragraph (about five sentences, give or take) will do fine. If you are to be away at any time let me know.
6. No Godmodding. Hence the roll dice rule.
7. Be mindful of your fellow RPers. Everyone is human.

The Kingdoms:

The Kingdom of Jayde: The main kingdom, ruled over by Queen Astina Laramae. The Queen is the most neutral of the rulers and is the only one keeping the thin layer of peace between the Kingdoms. The Kingdom of Jayde is the center of trade due to its neutrality towards the other Kingdoms, despite being the smallest region. It's vast cities are like a steam punk Victorian England, but run on magic. The Jayde Kingdom is home to all races since it the neutral Kingdom.

The Kingdom of Ice: The second largest Kingdom, ruled by King Thogar Strong-Heart. Filled with nothing but winter except along its borders to the other Kingdoms. The vast cold of this Kingdom is very hard for the other kingdoms to take over. This Kingdom is almost at war with the Empire of Serpents as well as the Kingdom of the Rising Suns. Only humans and beast people with fur are from this country, seeing as they are the only ones able to live with its harsh cold.

The Empire of Serpents: The largest Kingdom out of the four, it is Joint ruled by Empress Moonface and Emperor Crow. Sister and brother, they rule over the two main cities of the empire. Crow rules the north, closest to The Kingdom of Ice, while Moonface rules the kingdom to the south, near the Kingdom of the Rising Suns. The Empire of Serpents is dense forest (think rainforests) with ruins of the Empire of old hidden everywhere. The two main cities are the ones that have been restored the most. The empire has scouts out looking for other ruins that are part of a vast long forgotten kingdom. This kingdom is where a majority of Beast races and elves live.

The Kingdom of the Rising Suns: This Kingdom is made up of fast plains and farm lands. Due to the mild heat, almost consistent similar weather, and lack of major hills this Kingdom is home to the smaller races such as Halflings and gnomes. The ruler, Tzar Nurisea Goodfellow, is a halfling who dislikes the way her people are treated by the Kingdom of Ice and the Empire of Serpents. The people of this land tend to live in things such as burrows (much like a Hobbit hole, they are not a hole in the ground, the burrows are made for comfort).

Name: Xal Silverkin

Race: Human

Class: Paladin

Alignment: Lawful Good

Kingdom: Kingdom of Jayde
Age: 19

Appearance: User Image

Bio: Xal was a poor child growing up, having no family name, no relatives to speak of, nothing to call his own. In the cities of Jayde, where mechanisms rule the world, a person who cannot craft was not welcome. Or so Xal thought. On the fated day of his awakening, Xal stole bread from a merchant, and was soon chased down by men with heavy armor and weaponry. They did not kill him however, these men were nicer than normal guards, and asked the young boy if he would give the bread back. Of course answered no so they gave him a deal, if he was to join them, then they would pay for the stolen food. Seeing no other option, Xal accepted and so it happened, Xal's food was paid for and then he was taken to a small monastery on the outside of town, a symbol of unknown origin to Xal blazoned on the flags that whipped in the wind.

Xal grew up in this monastery, and he was soon taught that this was a religious order that protected those in need. The two that had brought him in were to be his teachers, one would teach him combat, the other would be how to invoke the prayers out of their god. As Xal grew, he became stronger, and the years passed by as Xal continued to train and study in the pursuit of martial enlightenment. He was a unique specimen to the order however, as he never wore the heavy armor that was common to his order, nor did he use sword and shield. He preferred the greatsword and cloth over the other sets. The only armor he truly wore was a vambrace on his main swinging arm for extra protection. On his eighteenth birthday, he was raised to knighthood status and sent on various minor missions. His most notable point was dealing with a group of twenty bandits. He lead the villagers he was to protect into a defensive counter attack where no lives were lost for the fact of his prayers. On his nineteenth he was to be called home and sent on a new mission. The mission was to help Queen Astina Laramae in her quest. Xal took up arms once again and took the holy symbol of the church he worked for emblazoned upon the back of his new clothing so that all may know that the religion of the Sun God was casting its lot in with this quest and that they wished for nothing more than peace. "Evil will never rest, and never shall I." - Xal Silverkin

Preferred Weapon: Greatsword, Throwing Knives & Prayers

Skills: Cooking, Cleaning, Weapon & Armor Maintenance, Heraldry, Tactics, Courtship

Name: Arkio Val Inge
Race: Elf
Class: rogue
Alignment: Chaotic neutral
Kingdom: Born in Rising Suns
Age: 59
Appearance: User Image
Bio: Arkio had an lacklustre youth to start, he and his family were farm hands in one of the many farms outside the capital city in Rising Suns. In the city he was bigger than most of the other kids being smaller races but there was a particular group of punks who took interest in him and let him join the group, promising to teach him how to be stealthy and cool like them. They were thieves had initially planned a big score and just needed a fall guy. When the time came for the score, Arkio was left with the prize and a fleet of guards chasing him. He managed to lose them and none the wiser, returned to the other kids. They fully inducted him into the group for reals and they went about thieving in the city.

One night however, he woke to the sounds of screaming and smell of smoke. The farm around him was being razed, flames high enough that the city could surely see. He tried to leave the room but handle was hot to the touch. Through the keyhole, he could see the house burning down, the door at the bottom had even started to catch. Through the flames he saw a group of hooded men cut down his mom. He instantly pulled away but did his best not to scream. He jumped out his window and ran as fast as he could back to the city, to his gangs hideout, crying through the night. Something changed in him that night, with his group he had kind of been the 'robin hood' guy, leading them to do better with their talents. Now he didn't care, he wanted to kill whoever was responsible. Well it was more complicated than that, the next day whispers of rumours to why it happened revealed that his parents had bad ties back in Jayde with a shady crime ring, and the farmer unknowingly harboured them when they were marked for death. With his particular skills and knowledge on the city, he found out who sold out his parents... And killed the man, but not before finding out his next target, the one who served as a middle man for whatever organization his parents were involved in. He found and killed them too. He quickly became a known outlaw, and had to keep his actions low key now to avoid early detection by the organization.

Eventually that trail grew cold, and he focused on other things, killing corrupt officials or undignified criminals, stealing valuable items but not pocketing the money. Eventually he is caught for his criminal actions and imprisoned. Before he is put to death, he is given a choice to live in service of the Queen Astina or die. He is smart enough to choose life, is given a special monitoring bracelet and told to make his way to Jayde, warning that his bracelet would make any defiant actions exceedingly painful.

Preferred Weapon: Best with small blades and knives, he has a short sword for bigger confrontations, bow and arrow and throwing knives.
Skills: Stealth, Agility and Dexterity, Crack shot with his bow, Planning and tactics mostly pertaining to infiltration and execution. A detective in his own right.

Lorna awoke the way a storm begins. Slowly, then all at once. She sat up quickly, taking note of her lack of robes and equipment. Quickly bringing her hand up around her neck she felt more then saw the stone still around her neck. Good. She thought. Better whoever captured us think the stone is worthless.

She looked around at the fellow captives around her. Lorna's face deepened into a frown as she began to think. She knew that she had fallen asleep in an Inn on her way to see the Queen of Jayde. How on earth had she ended up behind bars? Trying to stand, she stumbled. The floor rocking back and forth (as well as up and down) was not a sensation she was used to. She was flung forward towards the bars. Bracing for impact, she hoped it wouldn't hurt as much as she thought it would.
