I speak/understand Mandarin, but I was born in America, so I have no accent. Therefore, I sound kind of funny when I speak Mandarin. =(

I'd really love to learn to speak chinese. Unfortunatly they dont have it an anuy school, and they wont let me into a university to study it till I've finished school sweatdrop
also... what does Ni Hao ma mean? Ni hao means hello, but whats the ma for? Or am I just completely wrong? confused

"ma" works like the "?" for us when you say ni hao ma means "how are you?", because if you translate literally "ni hao" means "you fine" so, if you put "ma" in the end... "you fine?" . =)

i speak really good fluent cantonese and mandarin. im 50 percent chinese. so i can speak with a perfect accent. plus i live and schooled there for two years. didnt learn nothin, at all!!!

I have studied mandarin chinese for the last three years through my school system. Unfortunately, the college I am currently attending does not have a chinese class. Instead, I am taking beginning japanese. Next quarter I plan on either going to the other campus to stay caught up or getting some textbooks or workbooks to keep going.
