It really all depends. On one hand, mangas are better because they are more enjoyable and are interpretable by the reader, and so take on a different meaning for each reader. They are also more cost-effective (vs. anime), and you can enjoy then anytime. On the other hand, anime is more enjoyable because it has sounds, music, and color, so you an sit back and enjoy. It brings the manga to life Also, it is cheaper per episode if you think about it, because each DVD has 5-6 episodes on it. And, some mangas are better as anime, and vice versa, some animes are better as mangas. I don't know, it depends on the situation.
