Why can't they take friendship for an answer?

They went out, she broke his heart.
Repeat.
He wants to go to the prom.
Asks Andrea. (She says no.)
Asks Sam. (She says no.)
I get a back up prom date. (In case no one better comes along.)
He asks me to the prom. (Someone better does come along.)
I say yes.
We grow romantic, then grow apart.
We end up going to the prom as freinds.
He gets back together with her.
She hates me.
Sit for 2 months.
He hates me.

What did I do. He was friends with me for a while, even after he started dating her again, then he suddenly ingnores me. She already hates, because she didn't go to the prom. (Her fault.)

Honestly, it just sounds like she's mad at you for dating her old man. And she probably didn't want him to go back to you again if she broke his heart once more...

In my personal experience, which is nothing but observations, I would just do whatever is humanly possible to stay away from friends' ex-boyfriends.

No matter how long it's been, they always feel like he was once theirs and can therefore not be yours.

It might be hard for them to continue because their feelings of their ex moving on with his life is too much.
In the sense that somewhere deep down inside all womman, we want to believe that all out ex's were in some was fatally wounded by our leaving them.
We want to think that they still want us no matter what.

Or maybe it's just the hanging around him without being intimate that's hard for her.

Either way, the girl feels that somehow he's still her's and for him to go out with you is a betrayal of that.

Well there's my two cents on the matter.

Thanks for the advice. I'd like to ignore them both, but we're all in the school band, so I'll have 2 classes with him, and 1 class with her.
