The Problem With Everburning Chapter 6
Xigbar, who was, as Axel had said, running in circles around the bookcases, had saw what had happened to Axel and Larxene. For some reason a bookcase toppeled over and onto the other bookcase, then that one toppled over, and the nexted. Like dominos. Xigbar couldn't think for a few moments, as he wondered if they were alright. He raced to were the first bookcase fell onto the second and peeked in the small opening that used to be the aisle. " Axel? Larxene? Demyx?" He called. " Are you guys in there? " He wasn't able to here their answer, if they ever did answer back, because at that time Demyx had showed up. " Hey, Xig-Wait. Is that-" He looked at the bookcase with nearly a horror-expersion on his face. " Are they-?" " I'm not sure." Xigbar said gravely, but a little relieved that Demyx wasn't hurt. " I'm pretty sure they were, and they might be-" Demyx's eyes rolled back in to his head and he fainted. " -hurt..." Xigbar finished as Demyx fell to the floor. Then, practicly to himself, he said, " I wasn't going to say dead..." Suddenly he heard a deep growl near him, he turn his head a little more to the right and found the creature-thing not too far from Demyx. Xigbar started to get up, but the thing was faster and ran over to Demyx and opened it's jaws. Xigbar did a dive for the creature, but the thing jumped out of the way and sent Xigbar rolling. When he stopped he sat up to righten his sense of direction, however the first thing he saw was the creature eating Demyx's face. " Oh Demyx." Xigbar groaned as he covered his eyes. Then he heard a laugh. He looked up and saw that Demyx was laughing and hugging the creature. " Hey, it's Bingo!" Demyx smiled. " Bingo?" Xigbar asked. He'd figured out the thing wasn't eating Demyx's face; it was just licking it. " What a creative name." He lied. " Vexen named him, not me." " We're not supposed to have dogs in the castle." " Marluxia doesn't know." Demyx testified. " Of course....he did poo poo in Marluxia's garden yesterday..." " What kind of dog is he?" Xigbar asked, just to get off the subject. " He's Vixen's expirement; dog and part-heartless mix." " Oh. Cute breed. " The heartless-dog thing started growling when they heard some books fall and the bookcase started to move as something crawled out from under it. " You all right?" Xigbar asked as Axel and Larxene crawled out and stood up. " Never better, no thanks to-" Axel gave a yelp as Bingo bit his behind. " Xigbar! Help, he's got me!" " As far as I can tell, he's pretty friendly. " Xigbar replied, unconcerned. " Oh, I forgot to tell you, Vexen taught Bingo to attack Axel on sight-" Demyx began, but then they all heard something rip. " A little sooner...Just, a little, sooner would've been helpful, Demyx. " Axel groaned. Larxene edged away from Axel and stood near Xigbar and Demyx, who Larxene couldn't help but notice, was delighted at the fact that Bingo was bent on tearing Axel to shreds. " Revenge is sweet isn't it?" Larxene asked. " Like a pinneapple. " Demyx replied, almost dreamy like. Larxene only stared at him. She wasn't sure if the emo Demyx bothered her more, or the older one that was obviously starting to resurface now that his mind was off of his doll house and on his new puppy. " So, Demyx, can Bingo help us find an exit?" Xigbar asked hopefully. " No." Came Demyx's definite answer. " He can't?" Xigbar asked, Demyx shook his head. Then Xigbar asked desperatly, " You sure?" " One-hundred percent. He's a stupid mutt, the heartless part of him only reacts on instinct." Demyx answered. " And the dog part of him...?" " Is bent on destroying Axel." Demyx answered casually. " Oh, what fun we'll be having." Axel said as he glared at the dog, unconsciously rubbing his savagely bitten behind. " So if the dog can't get us out-" Larxene started. "-that means we're back to the beginning." Xigbar finished. There was a pause as they all processed this piece of information. " It's a small world after all." Axel's voice said, breaking the quiet. " Axel," Larxene started, but as she turned to look at him, the weight of the near death experience and all the constant yelling seemed to finaly take its toll on her. For the next sentence was barely audible, and very strange, " Will you please be quiet. " Axel zipped his mouth for a while, but as usual, he couldn't stay quiet for long, so he went over to Xigbar and whispered, " So...What's the plan? " " There is no plan, Axel." Xigbar said, sighing deeply. " We're going to be stuck for a very, VERY long time...." " Well, it's a good thing nobodies don't have to eat. Otherwise we'd wasted. " Axel said with a chuckle, but Xigbar only shook his head and turned his attention away from the pyro. " What? " Axel asked sincerly. " Nothing. You better go and sit down with Demyx and Bingo while me and Larxene figure out what to do next. " Xigbar suggested, he sounded very tired and beat. It took Axel a few moments to recognize that the reason why Xigbar was tired, was because of him and what he'd done to get them in their current situation. Realizing this, Axel quietly said, " I'm sorry... " It's kind of late to be saying your sorry. " Xigbar pointed out. " I know, but-" Axel argued, but Xigbar had already walked over to Larxene to talk to her about a method for finding the exit. Axel only watched for a while, feeling all sorts of guilty. "...Maybe if we find a wall-" Larxene started, but Xigbar inturrepted her. " -We already tried that." " It's still worth a shot- " " Hey guys?" Demyx called. The two looked in his direction, in which Demyx pointed to Bingo, who had recently started barking. " What?" Larxene asked, irratated. " Axel just left."
