I know how you feel about the mother, if not the depression bit. She is one of my most precious people on this planet, that I can not see a day in my near future without her. But, there are times when I just can not stand her, wish her to disappear, and be as far from me as possible. I hate how she's just standing over my shoulders sometimes, hate how she just tries to guide me, when I'd rather fall flat on me face, and learn the hard way.

Mothers are different for everybody. I know you've had more strife than you'd ever need from yours. It's hard to know what to say to you here, sis, as I'm rather apathetic emotionally to my own mom. I like her as a person, but love? No. It's all a question of how one was raised and if/how the person was cared for.
