They walked around the, what was thought to be, abandoned building, moving around it cautiously and watching every step they reach the far end of the building.
A distant incoherent muttering could be heard from not to far away...
It was a girl.
Around the bend a window sat alone with wheathered 2x4's attempting to hide what
was inside.
They proceeded towards the window, closer and closer.
As they peered inside they saw a woman, writhing and struggling to get free of the chains that bound her to the floor and walls she cried out for help.
She gazed in their direction in an instant, her leer stopped them dead in their tracks.
She was covered with cerimonial markings and tattoo's, head to toe.
She lie on the dew soaked grey stone floor that she was bound to.
A distant roar rang out from down the hall of the room the woman was locked inside.
Her voice peirced the air like a banshee's call as she once again cried out for help.
The boys were frozen in place.
They looked on in fear and remorse that they could do nothing to help.
The footsteps of the beast drew near and it was coming fast.
Tears ran down the face of the tattoo'ed woman.
Her crying was frantic now as the entity got ever closer.
Both of the boys watched on helpless, neither of them knew what the other was thinking, but the thoughts of one were apparent as tears streamed down his face.
He began to breakdown Rapidly as the beast drew closer still.
The Footfall stopped as all fell silent...
The women was still bawling ferociously and screaming for help.
*In the tear stricken boys thoughts*
"The silence lasted an eternity...I couldn't help."
"Why can't I move?" "I must save her."
As they looked on, suddenly a hand from the most fowl looking beast reached out and took his sacrifice.
The chains snapped loudly and flailed about before hitting the cold ground.
Blood lie on the floor from where the hand and feet were torn form the chains that held her.
One last scream fell into the sunset, but not from the woman.
He stood cold and in shock before falling to his knees.
He watched her die.
Her screams still running amuck in his head, he cried relentlessly with her in his own world.
Unable to find the will to live in his heart any longer, he rested on the dewy grass outside.
"She's not coming back...Why couldn't I save her?"
More tears ran down his face as he thought to himself.
The boy with him mysteriously dissapered amongst the chaos.
He didn't notice.
She died.. his best friend was just sacrificed..
He layed down to die..for the pain was too much.
