Chapter 5. Max. I felt her breath on my skin. It was cold, almost as cold as snow. Her touch felt like it left behind frostbite. I shivered as she blew in my face. "I-I could make you a deal." I said and tried to smile. "What kind of deal?" She seamed amused. "Umm...I-I can help you become his partner again and you give up one of your vampires." "Hmm...do you have a specific one?" Now she was interested. "A...Uhh...Girl? But a pretty one..." I never really thought of which one I wanted. "Oh, I see. What you want is love." My stomach floated at the word, Love. "Sure." I said and heard her laugh. "If! You can get him to accept me as his partner again, you can choose anyone you want." She pulled me closer to her face so our noses were just barley touching. "Deal?" I shuddered, her skin, her breath...was cold, freezing. "Deal." She smiled and pushed me to the ground. "You have fourty-eight hours." I nodded and she disapeared. Fourty-Eight hours to find Henry, convince him to take her back, and boom! I gotta mate. Not so hard right? Even though he can be like almost half way around the world! Great, just great! "I've been looking for you." Yes! "What do you want?" I asked and felt the cold fingers on my neck. I shuddered. "I want my partner, my old one." Henry said squeezing my skin. I started to gasp for air. "Y-yessir." I gasped, and he let go. My eyes were wide open. "Sh-she wants you back too." "Is that so?" He rubbed his chin like he was thinking. "She's looking for you." I said and stood up, so we were facing each other. "Well, I must find her. You can stay here." He glared at me and took off. This is easier then I had planned! I didn't want to get on his nerves so I stayed in my spot. Then I heard it. A faint barking coming closer and closer. My face lit up when I saw the golden mutt. His fur was swaying side to side as he ran. I opened my arms and he came running in. He barked happily licking every inch of my face. Yuck! His tail wagged back and fourth making his fur look like silk. "Max! Where were you?" He looked at me and barked. Then he ran off. I quickly followed him forgetting my promise to Henry. Max led me striaght out into the water. My eyes searched the beach then I saw it. A girl, about my age. She was face down in the sand. Maybe I wasn't the only human after all! I rushed to her and Max followed. "Are you alright?" I asked her. She breathed heavily and coughed. "Wh-where am I?" She looked around until her eyes rested on my face. Her eyes were yellow. They glittered in the sunlight. "Your on the beach." I offered my hand and she took it. I helped her up and she slipped. I quickly caught her. Face to face. Our noses were almost touching. We were both breathing hard. I smiled. Her face was pink. We gazed into eachothers eyes for a long time. Finnaly I backed up and held my hand out. "Hi, I'm Ben." She shook it. "I'm....Carly." "Are you sure?" I asked. She paused and smiled. "Of course." She had a sly smile, and she ran her fingers up the collar of my shirt. She laughed at my face and walked to see Max. Oh thank you lord! She is Hot. "Is this your dog?" "Y-yeah, that's....Max." She laughed her musical laugh. "Are you sure?" "Of course."
Chapter 6. Flirt. (Carly's veiw.) I pet Max and saw something. It was shiny. Like a quarter. I walked towards it and big mouth Ben stared at my butt the whole time. "Are you coming?" "S-sure." He studdered. It was funny to watch his eyes. When ever I came near him he flushed. Boys are Stupid. I picked up the quarter and flipped it. "Heads or tails?" "I'll take tails." He smiled and walked towards me. "I meant the quarter, not my a**." "Oh." I had to admit it was pretty funny. "Heads." "Okay." I flipped the coin and it landed on Heads. "Darn!" I tried it again. "Heads or Tails?" "Tails." I removed my hand. "Tails?" I was getting mad. Ha! He's not that good. "Heads or Tails?" I asked again. He sighed. "Tails." I flipped the coin. Tails. "Damn!" I swore and tossed the coin backwards. Ben caught it and stepped in front of me. Again we were face to face. "You know swearing isn't very attractive." He smirked. "So, like I give a-" He quickly put his hand on my mouth. "Tsk, Tsk." He teased and removed his hand. "I was going to say Woot." Ben just laughed. "So, how did you end up on the beach?" He asked. "Uhh...you probobly won't believe me..." My voice trailed off as I thought of the sparkling teeth, the crimson eyes. I shuddered. "No, tell me! Please?" He begged. "Fine." I gave in and sighed. "Vampires." I whispered and Ben suddenly stopped. I was earitated. "I told you, you wouldn't believe me!" "No, no it's not that..." "What is it then?" "You saw them too?" I was shocked! He believed me. No one ever believes me when I say Vampires. "Y-yeah. They were looking for this dude named-" I stopped and my eyes widend. He put his hand on my shoulder. "What is it? What's wrong?" "You" I couldn't believe it, I found the one they were looking for. "What?" "Their looking for...you." I tried to catch my breath. "Why me?" "They said, you wanted a girl? I don't know." He flushed. "Oh, I said I wanted...a mate." I looked at him and his hand on my shoulder. I shoved it away and stomped off. "What? So you don't want me?" He looked so...innocent, and cute. "No!" I forced myself to say. It was harder than I thought. He stopped in his tracks and bowed his head. "Carly...I-I'm sorry." He's just so adorable! I almost stopped. "No!" I protested to myself more than him. "Carly, take Max." Then I stopped. I looked down at the golden dog at my feet. I looked back at Ben. "Why?" He walked closer. "Because It's my way of saying-" "Whoa, back up the bus!" I said and he looked confused. "What bus?" I smiled, No! "It's a mettafore. It means hold on." "Oh." "Okay, we just met." "Yeah." "And you want me?" "Yeah." He answered so fast, it kind of freaked me out. I shook it off and smiled. "Okay, then," I took him by the collar so our faces were almost touching. This is my way of flirting agressively, Of course. "I'll accept this gift on one condition." I breathed into his face. He just stared at me. "Anything." Crap! My flirting wasn't freaking him out! This isn't working! Fine. Time for plan B. I leaned in close and my lips touched his. It felt so good...No! No, it didn't. I couldn't help myself. I released my grip and my fingers found his hair. He smirked. No, stop it! Plan B wasn't working! I need another kiss. No I need a plan. My thoughts were all jumbled. My head spun as tangled his fingers in my hair. Then finally, it was hard, but I managed to back up. His face was shocked. "Darn." I whispered. My flirting was only making him more in love with me.
