.....◦◦ Everything was normal at first. So, why? Why did it have to happen to her? Kat used to have somewhat of a normal life: she had some friends, she participated in some school activities, and she was decent in school. After her parents had gotten divorced she had gone to live with her mother and younger brother in a small apartment. When Kat was not even a year old her mother had been diagnosed with cancer in her brain. Although, when the tumor was finally removed so was part of her brain: a part of which stores memories. Because of this her mother is often forgetful and this causes disputes between the family. Even though Kat was never on great terms with her mom, it didn't mean she never loved her.
However, that all changed a day after the government declared something wrong in the city's water. She noticed something different about her. Something that didn't occur in any other moment in her life. The young girl had then found out she could hear the minds of people around her. At first it was unbearable. Being able to hear everyone's thoughts caused her to have chronic headaches and sometimes migraines. Her mother would often ask her if she was okay and suggested Kat to go to the hospital. Kat declined and told her it was nothing, in fear that her family and other would find out about her condition. Overtime, she was able to control part of her ability;however, sometimes she still can't control when she hears others thoughts.

.....◦◦ Due to her new power, she often isolates herself from everyone else. Hating the fact she can hear everyone's disgusting thoughts, she eats lunch alone and goes home right away after school. However, this doesn't mean she's completely anti-social. When Kat first meets someone she is often shy at first and cautious of the other person. Once she actually gets to know someone she opens up and relaxes a bit, showing her true personality.
